I realize that :lol:

That is why I just asked if the live band sets were under the "the sphongletron experience" or whatever.

And also pointed out that the stage set up is one of the main "sphongle" elements.

I remember when they toured with the live musicians and I could have swore it had a slightly different name

which I thought was sphongletron but as you said that is just the stage and lighting.

I am almost certainly not going now, unless I happen on some extra cash around then, which I probably would just spend on seeds anyways :lol:

I will consider it, I hate DJ's though. Some Sphongle is psychedelic and "orgainic" sounding to the point where I can appreciate it, which is why I am tempted to go.

Also Burke, I have been in the same boat before. Guess it is just a bad opener thing :shrug:

I'm pissed Cruz they had to turn down the volume on everyone at ttoads Cuz mad complaints. Few shows ago my friend was redic k rocked and flipped the fuck out in a super k rage on the sound board guy like WTF ARE YOU DOING YOU NEED TO TURN THIS SHIT UP" and it looked he was have A seizure while he was screaming ring around both nostrils the guy was like holy fuck

thats not stage production tho

sure theres tons of dancers and contortionists and whatever other circus shit but there isnt like an LED screen. its just people doing weird shit and lights and maybe props for the people doing weird shit

A lot of people do not understand the artistry that goes into a real dj set. It can be a very involved performance. Thing is, the true pros make it look like a breeze, so the casual observer really has no idea how much skill is in that set.

That said, there is a TON of fuckery going on in the dj game any more. People using pre-recorded sets, auto sync being used for everything, etc. Cheapens the game.

You assume way to much man...

I listen to the occasional producer or hip hip/ rap, I even appreciated some DJ's for a bit. Mostly stuff that was somewhat original like Big Gigantic before they went all mainstream. The whole live drummer / dj thing was pretty cool. Especially as the DJ played sax over his produced stuff on top of that. In the end I still prefer non produced stuff. That does not make me "a hipster"

I just prefer real instruments being played live over pre produced or entirely electronically derived music. Even with electronic stuff the best IMO is the live fusion stuff.

I will probably never pay money again to see someone sit on stage in front of their computer again live :lol: at least not over say 5-10$ :shrug: if that...

It is just not my thing.

Even most of the friends who got really into DJ's realized how lame much of it is in the end.
