Yeah, we should have just gone the single payer system.  That seemed to be Obama's plan from the gate but apparently he switched his views to be more conforming to what the right wanted.    Obamacare makes a broken system even more broken.  Health care costs are skyrocketing and health insurance isn't exactly "easily obtainable."  While for the rich, little changes, for the uninsured, they get even more fucked by all of this.  There is little advantage to actually working these days as the benefits are only subtly more beneficial than just chillin all day on government aid.

Also. Hospitals are state properties now. When you need high tech equiment, hospitals don't buy 2 or 3 at a time when they each need it. The government buys dozens if not hundreds of the equipment needed thus reducing the market price considerably.

Another thing is that doctors in US make amzing salaries. I don't know how much exactly, but I constantly hear the Canada is having trouble with the fact that doctors go to the US for better salaries. So I would assume that it ads to the current cost of the US system.

Finally, hospitals have to much equipment, do too many useless tests because of potential lawsuits and/or increasing profit margins. Doctor VS Insurer requires expensive lawyers.
