Wow OP, you have my respect for not smashing your brother's face in with a 2X4 or whatever else you have on hand that you could use as a weapon while he's around. That takes some real restraint. I'd be really tempted to find a way to fuck his life up for good.

It sounds like you did the best you could with him. Hopefully he mans up and apologizes to you at least, but I doubt it'll happen. If you care about the ex and the kid, you can hang around and help, but there's probably not much you can do to or for your brother that will help him. I'm also sorry he ripped you off for $11,000. It sounds like he took advantage of you being a nice guy. Just laugh in his face if he tries any shit like that again, and let him know he's being an asshole.

Calling the cops on family to settle a dispute is one of the sleaziest things I can think of doing to a family member. I would never do it. Again, you have my respect for being a good dude despite the bullshit you've been subjected to. I tip my hat to you.:thumbup:
