people who send inappropriate messages over facebook

am i the only person who gets mad whenever some sends you a message saying something like "you know where to get any weed?", or "where the shrooms at?". I politely ignore it and send them a text. Dont people realize you cant delete those messages? And whose dumb enough to try and find connects over social media.  Its like damn, stop messaging me that crap.

No where does it state that you do not advertise your drug use. From your original post one can conclude that you advertise your drug use. :shrug:

How would strangers know that your a source of shrooms if you weren't advertising it to an extent you shouldn't? Maybe not posting a picture of a half pound of shrooms on your page, but telling even friends you have weight.

well i dont advertise. People just know my history as a stoner. Im very much against using social media for any kind of illicit purpose.

Text messages are no better than facebook messages.  Neither are likely to get you in trouble, but both should be avoided.

If you are going to communicate with someone about something illegal, use encryption. 

For text messages, use Textsecure.  It is written by great hackers and is really secure.

For email and other things like that, use PGP or the free, open source version, gnupg.

If you must use telephones, make a voice call.  It is thousands of times more expensive to tap a voice call than it is to tap facebook or a text message, and they have to be watchin you in real time. 

With facebook and text messages, they can search through your message history and find incriminating things that you said years ago.  That's no bueno.    Voice calls are infinitely less likely to be intercepted.

If you ever send a message via the internet or satellites then do not assume it's safe, ever.

I get the same kind of messages, and the only "advertising" of my drug use I do on there is that I'm on some Grateful Dead-related groups.

I just ignore them completely. It's just people who know that I smoke. All my real friends just call or stop by if they wanna say anything about drugs.

As for messages, yeah they're never secure. Voice calls aren't much better. If you have to talk on the phone, it should only be "Hey man, what are you doing? Wanna hang out for a bit?" or something similar.

Who are "they?"  They (if "they" refers to who I'm thinking of) give not one fuck about the average guy who dabbles in small amounts of drugs.  No need to be so paranoid Pablo the dope man.  Also a whole hell of a lot more people are going to be reading a fb comment than a text message.  If you get busted or someone you deal with does on say a roadside stop with drugs, then yeah they may check out your cell.  Other than that meh:shrug:
