I have a few journal articles.  I enjoy writing, even when the topic is science.  Writing articles that have multiple authors is tricky because you might think you have a great sentence and somebody else just cuts it out or muddies it with some change.  It feels pretty good though when you get told that you have been accepted for publication.

I've had my photography published. The editor of my school's fine arts journal saw my work at a campus exhibition and asked me to submit.

care to share any of those articles, if you can? just outta curiosity.

but yeah, i can imagine for someone who likes writing, to have someone change something you like when their wording just isn't sufficient to you, must be annoying.

but then again, they might be a good scientist. can't argue with that.

that's sweet. i've been looking into photography. seems like a lot of work, but... fun, nonetheless... unless you're doing like... certain types... like Celebrity photography.  :unbelievable: good money though.

what do you do? art photography?

The small company I work for just re-published "Programming and metaprogramming the human biocomputer"  by john C lilly.    I played a small part in the process.

There is a book tour happening as I type this.

Yeah, mostly self-portraiture as a means of therapeutic expression. I also like to urbex and will snap the hell out of some decaying structures.

Yeah, I've been compared to her by a friend - which is very flattering considering she's a modern treasure. IDK if the comparison is accurate, though, because I work heavily in color... and digital.

I want to trade my big camera down for a smaller one. I am afraid to take it hiking and climbing with me, plus takes up too much space. I think you can get some nice smaller ones for a couple hundred bucks.

he should come in here and tell us all about his publications, and brag. this'd be the place to do it.

That's awesome.. But dolphin fucker MD has been dead for a while... ahem, I mean, doesn't the author traditionally go on a book tour?  Is it going to be like a tribute band?  Did you find a Lilly impersonator?

We got exclusive rites to the re-publish.  It has been a rare book previously ranging from $65 to a few hundred on amazon.  I am just stoked that it is going to be made re-available.

Also: I know a good handful of people that knew lilly, and although he did push some taboo's I have never come across an account of him raping a dolphin, although he did get his assistant to manually masterbate a male dolphin they were researching, seems a bit different to me as we "normally" do the same to horses and cows.

He did a lot for the sake of exploration and I think the positives rise to the top and outstand the odds and negatives.

Hmmm, not sure. Canon has a compact camera with 12 megapixels, but after some Wikipedia'ing, apparently megapixels aren't a litmus test for image resolution.

I didn't say rape.  He just seemed a little too preoccupied with dolphin sex.  It's all inconsequential.  He's definitely interesting enough of a guy to make a good read.  How do you know people that knew him though?  Wasn't he a recluse?  Any unpublished accounts you want to share?

I have been working in the float tank business for almost 3 years.  I end up just meeting tons of people.  One of my best friends has been floating since the 70's.  We are also industry friends with Glen and Lee Perry.
