General policy behind finding a hookup?

I realize this is a border-line question, so feel free to delete this thread if you feel it is needed or merited!

TO ALL POSTERS:
I am not asking for a hookup, per forum rules. Please do not post any such specific information in this thread, as it is against forum policy!

All I want to know is the general rule of thumb for someone to go out and find a hookup. Are there specific phrases or questions to ask? Anything specific to watch out for? If there is sensitive information here feel free to simply PM it to me, but again remember, no hookup!

I just don't know how to go about this. I live outside a very small town, and if I was my brother, I would, within a year of moving here, know the best sources in town and be friends with them. This sadly was not a talent I inherited :frown:

There has to be a way to find folks who grow or sell, or perhaps do both, certain things that I would like to purchase. But they ain't in the Yellow Pages, so how do I get hold of these people?

A friend of mine says go to parties. I am sure this is one way to do this, but very risky. Imagine going into a party of a bunch of hard-drinking off duty cops! Not the best place to ask certain questions!

So what is the general procedure to follow if you find yourself in a new town, a new small town, and you want to purchase things that you won't find at your local pharmacy. What do you do?

Once you have found someone's name or number, what is the initial approach? What is expected? What is the policy, in general? What should be avoided?

Hopefully I didn't go too far with this thread. But if I did, a I said at the start, a moderator is free to delete it. I appreciate your help and advice!

Start talking with people who seem friendly and relaxed, the sort who might smoke weed. After a while, bring up the subject of weed in a conversation. Maybe ask them what they think about legalization in Colorado. Once you find somebody who smokes, then it's a simple matter of meeting their dealer.

Or you could start growing...

Biker bar or pool hall. Strip clubs or just goto hot topic or some other strange store and make friends with a clerk .

Same can be said about people who work in the back of the house restaurants. Cooks and GM always have the best shit and are usual wasted 24/7.

Stuff has always found me while out and about doing thangz

One time when I lived in London my buddy and I just walked downtown and started talking really loud.

"OH MAN I WISH WE COULD FIND SOME WEED I REALLY WANT TO GET BAKED"
"DON'T WORRY DUDE WE'RE BOUND TO FIND SOME SOMEWHERE"
"YEAH BUT WHERE ARE WE GOING TO FIND SOME WEED?"

I was high an hour later.

Finding connections can be really easy or really simple. It mostly relies on how social and observant you are, and have a good sense of what atmosphere is right to observe. Finding out if they do drugs is the first and easiest bit, always. Just throw out words like trippy and see if it catches. Or just ask if they smoke weed, and even if they say no all you have to say is that you thought you smelled it on them, and that it wouldn't bother you if they did because you "tried it a few times."
