If it becomes suddenly more sensitive, painful, or noticing abnormal colors then just make a doctor's visit.

I cut my finger also trying to open a can of carrots with a non electrical can opener. They suck. It didn't get the lid all the way off so I stuck my finger in to lift the lid off then sliced my finger tip on the sharp can lid deep.

I stabbed myself with a buck knife once on accident and after a few days my hand looked dead so I went to the ER.  They said if you dont get stitches within a day they cant put them in.  So once youre past that window, you have to ride it out.

Oh yea, they cut it back open, cleaned some shit out of it, shot me up a couple times and then charged me $2,200.  It still doesnt work right, but atleast it didnt rot off.  I didnt get any painkillers either.

It was in that pressure point between your thumb and index finger.  No loving was recieved what so ever.  I was rather disappointed.
