titanfall beta coming in February for those who pre order the game

Anyone excited? The game looks pretty sick. I wish there wasnt a pre order requirement since its a brand new game but still we get to try it out one way or another. Itll suck if I play it and dont like it though and have already paid and pre ordered.

Any thoughts?

I think that you are falling for this EA beta test crap. Clearly you aren't getting the message EA is a horrible company and if you keep supporting their bullshit gamers have to put up with the fall out.

so you think I shouldn't buy the game because EA is a horrible company? And what about Activision and all the other giants that are horrible companies? In fact I want to know where you can buy a decent game, even companies that made most snes games are now huge corporate giants, for example EA and Activision.

I have no choice but to buy a game I want to play from the company that produces or distributes it or whatever. For example do you think I'd prefer to go to game stop to buy a game? But they are the only store that I can pre order a game and pick it up right in the store the day the game releases and that they will most likely actually have a copy of the game in the store when I go to buy the game instead of saying they will and then not having it and I pre ordered it and I can't even get my pre ordered copy that day

I'm not feeding you some elitist bullshit. EA has been putting out games recently that are not finished. Look into it. BF4 and Simcity are the two most recent and valid examples.

BF4 was awful. but it also was one of the first "next-gen" games released. So saying they have been putting out unfinished games recently is a little misleading. Simcity aside. Maybe it's just me but both the xbox one and ps4 felt rushed, the consoles themselves. So I'm not surprised it extended to the majority of the released games. Battlefield 4 wasn't the only game that released with plenty of bugs, dang near all the games that came out did.

I was actually mainly referring to the PC releases. I am unsure of how the console ports are doing.

I know on PS4 it deleted my save multiple times and online was damn near unplayable.

So I just pre ordered this game at gamespot. Guess what? No beta key

I guess the open beta will be for everyone. Or maybe there wont be a fucking open beta, who knows. Anyway at least I can pick the game up in March, it looks pretty bad ass

So the game itself comes out in March no matter what platform you are on, but I think for next gen console users it will come out in a few days, for 360 users probably at the end of March. I'm excited though, it looks fun

Not sure about the fact that it's an ONLY online multi player game. I have seen story clips, so I'm guessing there is a story. I think you can play competitively, or co op for the story, which is nice. I want to see some progression for this game, so far it's been very very limited in knowledge as to what exactly you can do aside from the fact that it's supposed to be an ONLY online game.

I'm not SUPER psyched about that, considering that I really really REALLY liked the old call of duty teams single player campaigns in cod1 and cod2 etc. I have to remember though, this game was created by the original team behind call of duty, not exactly infinity ward all together, but I've followed them since medal of honor allied assault, and expect a lot out of this game.

It looks like realism will go down the drain, but maybe it'll still have some very cool points about high tech weaponry in the future and combat based on it, that in part had some military guidance about theoretically involved ideas about what future interplanetary combat might be like. So far, no...... doesn't look like it, looks almost entirely fictional and based on fiction as well but, anyhow... we'll see.... we'll see

March 10th a local game store (its gamestop, sigh) is doing a midnight release for titan fall. Dark souls 2 just happens to be coming out the same day.

so I can't play this game on xbox 360 until march 25th. I'd LOVE to know the reactions from xbox one users. HOWEVER, I have this to say, I heard some very mixed reviews about this game

1 side is that it has awesome multiplayer it's extremely fast paced almost old school like quake 3 arena, the titans are awesome like tank warfare except you are in walking mechs and the scenery is awesome the cut scenes in space have awe inspiring graphics etc.

2 the second version of review I've heard is that this game is as next gen as it gets, nothing fucking old school about it at all, another bland shooter while original it is basically just death match missiles and bullets even if it futuristic, there is practically no story, nothing intriguing, you just rush through the campaign which is basically 9 death match levels online with some people then after that it's only multi player. I find this a bummer considering this game uses the source engine, and as far as source, at least left 4 dead has cool story co op you can go through with players and also versus you can play as an enemy your enemies can't, a human or a zombie. I've heard after playing titan fall an infinite number of times, it seems like a rushed game with all the effort on multi player and no time spent on concept, single player, anything

this disappoints me as I was very used to this team making games like mohaa, cod2, modern warfare etc. where there was strong emphasis on the fact that you are simply a single soldier in a much bigger picture given orders to go and die and kill and you basically have no choice. I've heard it still has the feeling that you are a single soldier but otherwise there is a really cool intro video about creating a worm hole and bending space and time, a very theatrical opening that could have turned into a bad ass campaign, and then basically everything else is just a bummer with lot's of fun combat. Modern warfare 2 may have been a bummer in terms of the ending leading off to a sequel to a game that was already a sequel to a game that shouldn't have had a sequel as the first game pretty much wrapped it up, but at least it had an ending

There is no story really at all.. But there is a lot more to it than the 2nd version.. The options you have are quite a bit compared to other shooters, even ones with vehicles. For instance you can jump on a titan and try and kill it, but there titans driver will be notified and sometimes jump out and try to kill you. So you have to hit it, wait til they jump out then jump off and kill them. There are special actions for your titan and player to change up your game quite a bit. Wall running is incredibly awesome and very smooth. You can jump back and forth between walls while running to keep wall running, you can also  double jump to get to places.. so you can wall run and then if you're jumping to another building and cant jump high enough, a lot of times you can jump again to get the extra movement to get you there.

Can't really think of much more than that right now.. but it's awesome. I don't really care about if it makes you feel like a single soldier.. because you're not, you're with other members so you're definitely not a lone. If you want something with a single player campaign, look elsewhere. It's just a bad ass multiplayer game... I have no regrets buying it. It does feel like it was rushed based on it having a campaign but if they spent all that time on the single player game it wouldn't have been released as soon and a lot of multiplayer games, especially the new shooters single player campaigns suck ass anyway.

I didn't know anyone plays these type of FPS games for the single player campaign anyway..I can't think of any FPS games I even own that are worth half a shit without multiplayer.

Yeah that's the same thing that I was thinking.. I mean sometimes they have a decent campaign, but the vast majority of people that play them, play them for the multiplayer.. I also don't mind single player not being there if it makes the game better for multiplayer.. and I think it does. Shit Battlefield 4 and Ghosts came out last year in November and they had so many bugs that they were unplayable, for quite a long time too. Titanfall didn't have any and its only a 4 months later roughly, so if they had to rush and leave out single player to do that.. fuck it, its worth it IMO

Cod2 had an awesome campaign and its multiplayer was crap, nothing recent about that of course. Ive heard what pisses people off about titanfall is the fact that the game feels it couldve had a fantastic campaign but doesnt!

Either way Im picking it up the 25th. Does the engine really feel like source? Does it feel at all like the l4d engine? Or much more like battlefield? How many multiplayer modes are there? It has capture the flag? Are the maps compressed like cod?
