post good video recommendations for my pocket projector

So I've got this pretty awesome portable pocket projector for Xmas. I haven't don't much with it other than watch a few movies at home that I downloaded and threw on my phone and played through it. I have since bought a 160 gig ipod as my previous one shit out on me with hard drive crash. I plan on using the ipod solely for videos to play through the projector at various events out and about. Weather it be local gigs as just visual background. To camping out. House parties.  Festies. Lot. Kicking it with local and abroad home bums swilling burs down by the train tracks, etc.
I've already downloaded a plethora of all video and concerts grateful dead related on pirate bay. Stumbled on some cool old movies that were subtitled with grateful dead concerts playing as the soundtrack. 2 were old silent movies too which is really cool. As well as everything I could find on McKenna videos. Bunch of psychedelic documentaries. The magic trip which is about kesey and the pranksters. That ones a gem. Woodstock. Bunch of stuff
oh. Also downloaded Carl sagans cosmos series which is Flippin awesome. Symphony of science videos. Some Richard feynman interviews. Sagan and feynman are my favorite physicists. They are so engaging. So yea.  Anything good in the ways of mind blowing physics shit is on the list as well
Anyway.  I'm looking for anything really. Visually pleasing will be a big factor as I'm thinking more often than not this will be more of a background thing accompanied with music.  So live concerts Def. Any videos of good music accompanied with cool visuals.  However I'm certain there will be times I want to throw up some cool shit with dialog up like documentaries. Interviews. Movies. Etc.
So far on movies I've got a lot of the basics that would be great out and about on a projector. Natural born killers. Pulp fiction. Clockwork orange. One flew over cookoos nest. Easy rider. Cheech and chong collection. Dazed n confused. Star wars.
So yea
Let's see what ya got shroomery!  I wanna stock this ipod with good shit and some.

Fuck yeah, projectors are awesome. I don't own a tv because of mine..just project things on the wall.

I'm pretty fond of playing documentaries about the universe/the ocean(anything with a lot of really pretty trippy things to look at) from netflix on the projector and then playing whatever music I want in the backround.


Also anything black moth super rainbow. Actually, remember that animated movie "Dinosaurs"? I remember smoking a bit with some friends and just chilling, drawing things and talking and we put on that movie but then turned down the volume and played the Black Moth Super Rainbow discography and it was the shit for some reason.

Pocket projectors are an awesome sign of the future of entertainment tech. This kind of technology will fit in tablets within a few years.

out of curiousity how much did yours cost?

I have an NEC projector that set me back about 400, I can tuck it under my arm and carry it anywhere as long as I have an HDMI port to plug it into, but it's definitely not a pocket projector and currently i have to replace the lamp which is like 120 dollars in and of itself :sad:



this is generally what I get out of it in a pretty bright room during the day, so I'm happy with it, don't get me wrong...just curious about the pocket ones and how they compare.


it's also lots of fun to play with in terms of shadows and lights in various inebriated states, definitely a recommended purchase for anyone that doesn't have a projector.

Yah, seriously I would totally recommend anyone who's considering buying a new television to just get a decent projector instead, internet access and a netflix subscription(if that, I think it's worth the 8 bucks a month, personally) is all you need.

Mine is really lightweight and portable, but sometimes when you're messing with the position of it and trying to get it just write it's a little bit of a pain in the ass(especially because my friends don't own extension cords) - I mean, technically it would probably be more efficient to keep it in one place and hang /mount it like 7-8ft off the ground and like 15ish feet away from the wall...buuuuuut, it just makes random gettogethers so much more fun so I travel with it pretty frequently.

I would totally get a second pocket projector if it was decently priced and worked well.

This is the one I got. Picture is really good. We brought it out to backyard and threw up the picture on the whole back of House.  2 stories high and wide and it was still quite watchable.

I was initially going to get this one but the brookstone has more lumens and is just a lot sleeker. However for the price and the role factor the 3m is a great buy.

Just found the brookstone is not compatible with stupid I pod.  O well. I'll just throw my music on the ipod and buy extra 64 gig sd card for phone and play the movies off of there. Also I bought a 30 dollar chrome cast so when I'm near wife I can stream Netflix and a few other apps.

Does anyone know if they have female av to hdmi connectors? 
I've Googled and only found hdmi to female av.
