Vocal range

I've trained for a few years as a vocalist, and I've found that no matter how much I practice with whatever technique I can't sing very high (up to B3).

Anyways I found myself reading about vocal range, not sure why I didn't look into this before (my vocal tutor sucked). Did some exercises to determine where I was and found that I'm a Bass. ?? Really weird, I'm a pretty small guy and always thought of my voice as sounding in falsetto. Yet after a week of singing in the bass range (E2-E4) its worked much better for me than Tenor (C3-C5) which is what I was doing before.

So I went and recorded myself speaking and singing, made sure to go through my entire range and change the voice production back and forth. Went back to listen and was surprised by how deep my voice is, fucking weird. I didn't know what my own voice sounded like

Anyone else know what their vocal range is?

Ive only sang once playing guitar hero lol

i dont like the way my voice sounds just talking, cant imagine what it sounded like singing, probably 1000 times worse haha

I'm a bass. Really sucks, because bass doesn't sound very interesting/sexy :lol:

. I wish I was a tenor but alas I am not.

I get a lot of compliments for my speaking voice, singing has been a headache though. Hopefully not trying to sing beyond my range will help

I'm that shady driver who is singing and stops when people drive by or pull up next to me at a light. :lol:

Singing just takes practice, anyone can be at least an average singer which is worth more than I can really say. If you're interested I can :pm:

Mines bass and hoarse for sure I sound like Lemmy with my speaking voice and I can't carry a tune in a bucket. But if you wanna sing the high notes you could always try the Castrato thing.
