It's 'cause there's two brain pathways that do yr reading
one process is mostly when you have to sound out a word you're not familiar with... then you read it syllable by syllable
but once you're used to reading a word you can just look at it and know what it is...

there's two different kinds of dyslexia, for example
some people can do one but not the other...

although when i saw the post heading i just though you were drunk.
