Anybody else love them some ska?
Listening to Operation Ivy right now. I can't seem to find ska shows like 7-8 years ago. Did go to one recently though only like 50 people were there.
Ska punk really gets me going, the fast pace, the baselines, and harsh vocals and pissed off lyrics.

Not really into most ska but I do like how the Bad Brains mix hardcore with straight up reggae.

Op Ivy is about all I listen to, but I fucking love them so much.
I liked Less Than Jake and Catch 22 when I was younger, never really got much into the ska scene though for whatever reason.

I'm jealous, I really wanted to see the slightly stoopid/atmosphere tour but they weren't playing near me. But i should be seeing streetlight manifesto in october which will be amazing.

Yeah normally ska/punk shows have a great crowd and good pits.
Slightly stoopid and atmosphere eh? Interesting, would have been a good show.
West coast is probably a better place to find ska. There is a band called Ninjaspy out of BC that is skacore. Interesting stuff, I'd post a link but I'm on a low speed connection.

I went to a show a week ago. My brother first urged me to accept his proposal to attend, and I accepted. I remember a friend telling me about his experience last time he went to one, he went to one two weeks before I did. Also, his brother went to one a year before. I never went to one until last week though. I actually had it differently, it was much too crowded. Just in order to get through the entrance I'd have to struggle in passing through a crowd of people, because they would be all loitered out around there, and you couldn't get anywhere successfully. You would have to try to bump into people in order to secure a position in entering the show. Once we finally got in I was happy, I must admit I never saw such a show. I thought my other brother would have loved to come here, but I never did get around to asking him if he would. I sat through the whole thing and from beginning to the end they played the same song, they didn't change it up from anything associated with former acts, and so it was dull & boring, but it was still ok. I left 10 minutes before it ended to get back home, mainly to watch tv to pass the time.
