Now you're gonna be strung-out and dysphoric. Get some exercise bro.

Yeah, because I'm sure he wouldn't otherwise notice how shitty he feels coming down from 400mg caffeine.

Ephedra saved my ass in highschool.

Worked better than just a coffee.

get into exercise and gym work. once your into working out, you get a buzz from it, just like amphets and all that. it triggers your brain to start releasing adrenaline. so you get hyped up while working out, afterwards you feel naturally stoned and mellowed out. then you get a nice big feast and feel healthy/satisfied. its a good thing!

also, amphetamine addiction is not one of the best ones, because it never really goes away. atleast methamphetamine addiction doesnt.

On that note, I also advise against things like video games and movies.

Dopamine deficiency means you will experience less satisfaction from things that generally release that neurotransmitter. I found it easy to get caught playing video games for hours without any satisfaction and feeling hopeless when doing so.

Working out is a good call. Cold showers are another. I resort to endorphins and serotonin to enhance my wellbeing after a stimulant binge. Look to meals that will enhance your serotonin, and do whatever will generate endorphins.

yeah dude, the only way to get away is to distract yourself.

even though its not physically addictive, when i'm jonesing, its like murphy's law kicks up 300%, and EVERYTHING goes wrong and its all my fault and i'm a useless shell of nothingness surrounding a cold shit on a hot day.

it blows my mind how everything goes wrong when i'm jonesing.

but if you suck it up and lay off for a while, you'll find things start to become enjoyable and rewarding.

or you can just find a source for crystal and master guitar and just do nothing but smoke meth and play guitar till you die in 10 years.

but you'll be awesome. i guess lemmy killmeister is still alive.

that is also a fairly interesting way at looking at things also Smack, i.e. realizing that you've just been using a dopamine heavy drug, and then doing activities that stimulate the release of the other feel good chemicals of the brain :strokebeard:

Oh yeah, cold showers are great. I personally enjoy video games while I'm withdrawing, but this may be a personal preference-- I also enjoy weed, and I've heard a lot of people say they hate it when they're withdrawing. I find the combination to be stimulating and relaxing at the same time.

Protein-rich comfort foods and long walks in nature are my gold standard go-to therapy, though. :awesomenod:

I find video games are great for wasting time if your just trying to get through the acute withdrawals. But if we're talking long-ish term stimulant addiction, I find them to just be counter-productive and unsatisfying.

when im really withdrawing or coming down bad, i can't do anything. i can't focus enough to play computer games. or like its not the same as when i play 'focused'. i also cant really keep my attention on a movie or tv show much, i'll more just stare at it blankly. i have no hope trying to watch a subbed anime episode in that state. mostly what i'll do is just put on some david attenborough/nature style doco that i can just watch blindly, or put some music on and try to sleep. i just have to do brain dead tasks and ride it out untill it passes. its usually pretty shitty, because i tend to get psychosis with it as well. meff psychosis ftl. most of the time i just try to skip all of it with benzos now. knock myself out, wake up, get a good feed, take vitamins etc. and then just wait for things to return to normal!

thats why i'm moving closer and closer to saying " Fuck meth! ". i've said it a few times, but really. fuck meth. the shit is poison.

kind of lame as well because i'm getting towards the end of all drugs now. i can't smoke weed anymore, i've lost the magic of MDMA. K is similar in that i dont feel right using alot of it anymore. meth again, i cant really use anymore (but still do). alcohol is alcohol and is steady and reliable, but again i'm even getting over alcohol. and psychedelics i'm kind of getting over too. i find it difficult to bring myself to commit to a big 10 hour ++ trip. i haven't even smoked dmt in a long time as well, because of the initial scare of the whole thing.

all that leaves behind to my mind is prescription amphetamines, which again i dont really want to use because its pretty much just meth-lite. cocaine, which where i live is too expensive and not worth the price. and GHB, which i again don't like and don't want to really start using.

so really that leads me towards the conclusion that i should call it quits with drugs and start living healthy and soberly!

kinda lame when you still got the appetite but nothing to quench it with though.

I'm with you Soulidarity.

It's almost like every drug has lost its wow-factor. The few that still have a wow-factor are either way too addictive (meth), or are already diminishing (heroin, GHB).

I was addicted to vyvanse too.
It sucks when you want to quit but can't.

What worked for me was weening myself off.
First week 50 mg.
Second week 30 mg
Third week 15 mg.

You get the point...It was a hell of a lot easier getting off them than quitting cold turkey (which I tried to do a lot too)

I didn't even notice the drop in mg each week either.
30 felt like 50 and 15 felt like 30.  Once I was finally on my own I felt no craving to get back on...It be nice don't get me wrong but it's a bad cycle, to me.
