I don't know. I grew up being fascinated by Star Trek and science. I still enjoy cosmology and sci fi but I long ago realized that actual pursuits in these areas are more of a drain on your life than they enrich it. I took up through Calc 1 for my major for example but I never liked it. In fact I've had a general dislike for triangles since I took trig. I like the fantasy part of science, the part that is fictional. Real math is usually monotonous and has no deep meaning like the spiritualists try to give to the Higgs boson. Truth is it's just another particle and not even useful to understand because it's even irrelevant to chemistry.

I used to collect coins too. One day I realized that something was wrong with me as I practically because sexually excited over some cold stamped piece of metal. There's more to life is all I mean and these things distract you from what's important.

Do you really think that there was some subversive movement by government and/or other organizations to put anthrax in peoples' heroin?

So just because you didn't like it, didn't understand it, or found it monotonous - that means that those who actually liked it were just "nerds who got their dick hard to math"?

And I wasn't talking about Star Trek or cosmology...(although you should like those things if truly enjoy "fantasy science").  I'm talking about intellectual pursuits like science and mathematics in general.

I've read some posts of yours that involved very complex chemistry that I simply couldn't understand...by your reasoning could I label you a "nerd that got his dick hard to chemistry?"

What you think is important.

that's kind of a depressing view on life...science can definitely be enriching to some people. Understanding how the universe was made, how it works...it can help you understand just how amazing it is

but i don't get it...the big things like science and greater knowledge don't interest you, but the small stuff like collecting coins brings no joy either

so what IS important than? eating, sleeping, and dieing? sounds like a pretty shitty life if you can't enjoy the things in between

Most likely yes, but not a subversive movement. It seems like a pretty standard establishment type move. Motives seem unclear but the fact is there is anthrax laced heroin going around. Intelligence services move the vast majority of the world's heroin supply and always have interests in experimenting on people. Fortunately for MI6 or whoever did it, no one cares about a junkies death from "bad H" and it can be written off without much investigation into the matter.

I don't really understand what this has to do with the Higgs Boson or math or science.  You seem to put a lot of emphasis on becoming "sexually excited" over non-sexual things - almost as if you actually believe that people become sexually excited over these types of things.

What's important in life is pursuing what makes you happy...if math/science doesn't make you happy then don't pursue it, that doesn't mean others can't have different standards.

"nerd that got his dick hard to chemistry?"

Yes, I guess I am. A certain amount of self criticism probably went in to that statement. If the shoe fits I guess so. There was a time I'd rather finish an online chess game than resign and ignore my naked horny gf.

I'm been trying to sort out my priorities lately.

I really hate the shit out of the fact that people are so quick to judge 'conspiracy theorists'.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with you.

I think when the average person looks at comments like these they're keeping themselves oblivious to more information. Perhaps the other suggestion of it naturally occuring are plausible.

However, people will brush off anything they haven't seen for themselves or thought about for themselves.

That really, really bothers me.

It's not that that statement offended me personally.  It just gave off really ignorant vibes, like you were one of those stereotypical ignorant frat-douches whose only priorities in life were to get drunk and try to pick up women at clubs.

I'm no bookworm myself and I'm not the brightest bulb in the box...(and I actually do think this Higgs-Boson shit is stupid), but I enjoy reading about math/science-related things here and there, and I found it depressing myself to interpret a general level of apathy from you for anything that might be found in a textbook or anything that might force you to think.

Dude, i was telling somebody about MK Ultra the other day and they were like "sounds like that conspiracy theory shit"

Really?? it's declassified government information! and he still didn't believe me when I told him that...

ugh, i hate the term "conspiracy theorist"...i prefer "researcher" or "fact finder"

My misapplied sex drive is responsible for some of my past triumphs for sure. But I think that may be a negative for myself because I'd almost certainly be a better adjusted, or a more normal person, if I had been properly balanced. And thanks for pointing out my poor sentence structure, I'll use preview post this time...

Well I appreciate knowing how my comments came off. I often offend people without thinking because they don't understand the line of thinking behind a comment when I don't think twice about it. That's one of my greatest weaknesses, and that leads people to misjudge me a lot as well.
