Bacopa Monnieri - Memory Herb

So this is one of the newer additions to my collection. These are a few cuttings when I first got them, but they have since grown out and rooted nicely. I just have them in some perlite floating in water. The roots are now totally dangling below the perlite line into the water. They're great for aquariums. Just figured I'd share since it's not something we typically see in here.

They grow like a weed at my house.
They are a creeping ground cover and can take over your garden if given the chance. they have beautiful little light purple flowers and will root ontop of concrete.
such a strong plant!
I try to eat a 2" cut per day and IMO it works amazingly and you can even make an extract from it with some serious memory power.

Awesome, I really want to grow that variety and try some bacopa tea.

I've got this kind that they sell in garden centers.

Also labeled Bacopa Monnnieri, just doesn't have the same flowers/leaf texture/thickness.



Anyone know if this variety has any adaptogenic properties?

I've read it is a bioremediator and might process toxins in soil.

I don't know what that plant you posted is.
the ones the OP posted and mine are aquatic plants and can grow in soil but need heaps of water or they  do poorly. However in saying that they can grow on any surface aslong as its moist such as my concrete lol. i water most of my plants daily so that's why they grow so well at my house.

The one you posted doesn't look like an aquatic plant at all nor does iy it look anything like brahmi!

hmm, I guess home depot is selling fakes. They labeled it Bacopa Monnieri I think it had a nick name on the tag too, winter something.. I don't remember. I can't find a formal name for it yet but I do see pictures of them on google if you search Bacopa white flowers

edit: I see a lot of places calling it Snowstorm bacopa but home depot had a different nick name. Still haven't found a full classification

I believe of the real bacopa OP has you can use all parts in a tea. I think its even good in salads.

yeah but the one I found was a fraud its just called bacopa it isn't the true bacopa monnieri, not even the same genus.

The one I found is in the genus sutera. Sutera cordata just ornamental, they just call it bacopa/ornamental bacopa. I don't think it has any other value. I sware they labeled it Bacopa monnieri on their sticker in home depot though. With a nickname beginning with Winter.. can't  remember exactly what they had it nicknamed.

This was a few years ago when I picked it up. It is an awesome ground cover though. Very hardy and is almost always full of flowers.

I tried it in an extract pill form but I only took a couple bottles and I was taking a lot of supplements with it at the time. I can't really say... I only supplement with organic Ashwagandha now, powder form in a tea and I definitely notice mental/physical benefits from that.

I see raw bacopa isn't that expensive I might try it out.
