I love Christmas. I spent mine giving cheer the the mentally challenged guys I take care of. We opened gifts, watched Rudolph, I dressed up as Santa, ate a steak dinner, and then we played X-box all night. It was a merry day even at work!

I'm not a big fan of it either; pretty pleased it's over. Glad I didn't need to spend the last two evenings with the family, as the family has had some serious shit these past two years, arguing among themselves, etc. Christmas with these situation is as fake as it can get. It's Christmas, let's all get together and celebrate with joy, happiness, etc - very fake, after all that's happened. Also parents being Christian, wanting me to come along to the morning and evening service at their church. I declined, like every other year, but they always seem to be a tad disappointed with my decision not to come. I expected this disappointment, as it seems to kick in every single year. Who's to blame? It's similar to me asking them to come along to some electronic, trip-hop concert or event. It's pointless.

I spent the evenings at friends, celebrating with a couple of beers, playing billiards, etc - I enjoy Christmas, celebrating with a group of close friends.

I was hanging out with some Jewish friends on the 24th and I asked them if they celebrated Christmas or anything and of course they didn't - they said on "Christmas Day" it's tradition for them to watch movies and eat Chinese food.

I've heard exactly the same thing about movies and chinese food, I wonder when that started.

Christmas is not over for me, I've got another awkward family function to go to today and there's one last one coming up. On the upside, since we're past the solstice there will be slightly more daylight each day that goes by.

I think Christmas is awesome.

Almost three weeks of an empty office and little work, time with the family napping, drinking, and hanging out.  Tons of gifts and new toys.  All this followed by an equally sweet New Years Party.  Definitely the best holiday season of the year.

My Christmas was pretty good, until I made it to the headshop 15 min before they closed and picked up one of these:



Then it became great. The dude hooked me up on it, picked it up for $100 less than I've found it online. I went home and broke it in playing Halo 4.
