Interesting stuff psylo - thanks for sharing. Making a morel patch?? I was gifted the location of a patch near here (can't check for fruits till spring) but didn't know you can make your own patches?! I might start looking at inoculation..

Really wanted to ask about that Chlorociboria - is that a piece you brought back from the woods and bunged in a bucket?
I brougt a small piece back down ith me the other day and would love to see some fruits off it. Is it easy to fruit wild substrate in (slightly) controlled conditons?

(Don't worry I will google/shroomerysearch as well!)

thats wierd because my Dad got pretty sick the other day . We thought he had the flu as he was getting the chills and also body aches and vomiting. classic flu like symptons. But part of me was questioning the mushrooms. My monm said he was wolfing em down so he ate quite a bit it think.

So like many edible mushrooms, its only edible for some . And if he would have heeded my warning and only eaten a bit your first time he may have had a better night.

thanks for the link.

turns out it still might be the flu, my fiance got sick last night and she didnt eat any mushrooms.

ya i havent got fruits from a morel patch as of yet . Its all made under an apple orchard with ashes, charcoal and wood chips. 3 places theve been known to fruit from naturally. i just need some spawn!! but ive done lots of other mycological landscaping. mostly with wine caps and other fun wood lovers.

as for the Chlorociboria , ya i have brought a few pieces home over the years but this is the first timn ive got them to fruit at all. its nothing special, just a bucket of water, soaking. but i wonder what they would do if i put them in a SG with some perlite.

i may have to try it.

big fan of this fungus!!

it seems very different from any other oyster ive ever picked. and we get alot here. but no other oyser spots are fruiting yet which seems wierd too. they ususally all fruit at the same time.

8 may be a Hypsizygus species. Looks like it has those "water spots" on the caps I think.

can't wait to see some b.c. Cyanescens too man :drooling:

:drooling:

are your azurenscens poppin before the cyanescens ?? My azies beat cyans by farrrrrr - I think it's weird but I ain't complaining here lol

ya i havent even see a cyan yet. but like i said. i experimented with cold shocking , i put that pot in the fridge for 48 hours a few weeks ago prior to the heavy rains. it seems to have helped. although it fucking snowed a bit today freakishly it should help the rest of the azzies start popping with this cold. its going to warm up again so things should be really in full swing now. if its this cold i may see some P pelliculosa soon!!

Nice to see your stuff flourishing. Awesome pics man, i'm jealous of the porcini.

--------------------
Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.
