Why don't liberals move to Norway or something?

It sounds like they want to turn the US into that kind of government, so why don't they just move there if it's so perfect?

As a libertarian I'm tired of big government and taxes

Haha I can agree with that. So annoying when conservatives act like they are for "smaller government" when they are typically against social freedoms and only differ with mainstream Dem's on taxes and healthcare

It would uphold the laws such as don't murder, steal, etc. Have a national defense. Basically minimal government with maximum freedom.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Norway has a much higher standard of living than the majority of Americans.

Most Americans are fools thinking that they live better than other parts of the world, but they don't, there are many places which provide a better standard of living.

Norway is a small country, with a small population, so they are able to manage their social model much easier, the US is too large with too many unproductive citizens.

I never said Norway was a bad place to live. I am very aware of their standard of living. I'm just wondering why don't liberals move there if thats what they want to turn our government into?

remember, libertarians don't want a free for all. we want maximum freedom with as little government as possible

Norway wont take them.  Norway can only support its high standard of living by being a low population, mono-culture, oil rich nation.  Taking in throngs of huddled masses like the US does it not possible for them.

Right, and once the Libertarians have removed any checks and balances on their power by shrinking the government to it's barest minimum, I'm sure that they will choose not to take advantage of their absolute control to enrich themselves.  No, because Libertarians are obviously good smart people with only America's best intentions at heart.  Thousands of years of human history be damned!  If anyone can resist the corruption of absolute power it surely must be Libertarians!

That's right, the Norway system works for Norway, it's a special case in a lot of ways.

It has nothing to do with liberal or conservative, they are a oil rich nation with a low population that shares the wealth, there is only so much to go around, taking in a bunch of unproductive Americans will only destroy a good system.

Something I've realized recently is that most conservatives don't care that Scandinavian countries are more economically competitive and have higher standards of living. Conservatives prefer to live in the wild west, and they have to be dragged into the present kicking and screaming.

It's a shame you can't go back in time to be an old west tycoon, but we've got to get on with our lives here.

That's not it at all.  Scandinavian countries arn't economically competitive.  They are rich because of oil.  Like Kuwait.  They inherited their wealth, they didnt earn it.  Everybody wants to inherent wealth.  Unfortunately that's just not an option for a continent wide nation of 300 million.

Actually what happened is that Scandinavians carefully voted for elected leaders that would ensure that their country's economic productivity was shared fairly.  Norwegians accept this more readily because of their racial homogeneity.  People are a lot more likely to feel compassion and altruism towards people that are like themselves.

There's PLENTY of wealth to share in America.  The only thing that stopping us is the greedy predatory 1% and the fucking idiots like yourself who support them in spite of their own best interests.

Most wealth is generational as is poverty.  Seems that there are many circumstances beyond an individual's control that contribute to being rich or poor.  Liberalism seeks to level the playing field.  The best trick libertarians and conservatives have played on the middle class is that middle class interests lie with the rich.  They do a great job of that bullshit too because they are so damn well funded and skillfully villainize the poor - as if poor people are the problem.  Hard work?  Trade places with a manual laborer or be a banking executive.  Which one is the hard, honest worker?
