bed bugs will crawl on the wall then jump down from the ceiling to get you at night, they're very crafty. which is why the bucket of water (or the previously mention ducktape) method doesn't work
the only way to truely get rid of them is to flee the infected area for, what 6 weeks? that allows them to die of starvation while allowing the eggs to hatch and also die from starvation.

the problem with using poison for rodents is that it makes your house uninhabitable, rotting corpses STINK and stay stinky for a very long time, i'm pretty sure the gasses that are released after they die is also dangerous. :frown: not just that, but it brings flies, and ALOT of them... does anybody know a way of dealing with flies? my neighbour has a beast of a dog who also takes beastly shits, leading to a fuck-load of flies in the summer, when the windows need to be open, is there an efficient way to get rid of them?

I'll look into it, the boric acid doesnt work for most because of improper
application, the roach proof commercials for instance showed that you need to
put a line of it in inconspicuous places but like anything else if you put an
obstacle in it's path it'll simply go around, puffing the fine powder into
the air helps as does turning it into a bait

unfortunately they removed dursban from the market or I'd buy that, a few
teaspoons in 100 gallons of water, feed a few ounces of that water to a cow
and it still dies

I got some sorta fleas or lice or something in my bedding.
Everytime Im at home I get itchy when I lay in bed, feel little bites, find bugs on me in the shower.
If I go camping for a couple days, stay at my moms, stay at a friends, sleep in my car drunk, etc...this doesnt happen.

My prayers go out to anyone with bed bugs. That is the absolute pits.

A couple places ago, I shared a house with a few roomate and we all got to pick our bedrooms when we moved in. Each bedroom all ready had furnishing and I picked the one bedroom in the whole house that had fucking bed bugs.

They tormented me for a whole summer. I would have anywhere from 2 or 3 bites to 30 bites every night; usually in clusters. They itch like no other bug bite and will drive you crazy as you will not be able to sleep a night without them getting to you.

THEY FOLLOW YOU. I tried buying an air mattress and sleeping on it with my sleeping bag (in the same room). They still bit me. I tried sleeping on the couch in the living room and they presumably hitched a ride on my sleeping bag or clothes because they bit me there too.

Finally, I decided the bed must go. I got my landlord to help me haul the thing away and then I religiously vacuumed the shit out of every corner of my room and washed all my clothes several times in hot water and hot air for drying.

I have since moved on to other abodes in different locations and they have thank fully not followed me.

God what an awful creature. Fuck those things.

This just in: DIY Mouse/Rat Poison based on Barium carbonate, a toxic heavy metal salt available from pottery/ceramic supply stores at about $5 a pound. Most convenient food base is peanut butter, mice and rats love it more than cheese and it makes a readily mixed moisture proof paste bait.

Needless to say unused bait is toxic waste and dead mice or rats are a hazard to cats and birds.

I applied it in places that roaches frequent. Corners of kitchen cabinets, under the kitchen sink, behind/under the fridge, under the bathroom counter, etc. It works damn well.
