Search engines have "crawlers" that read information on pages and index it for being searched. So it's probably Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. combing the pages so they can be indexed.

Been Lurking for the last week or so....there is so much info for a myco newbie to go through first...
I am about to order some spores from Sporeworks and set up a room in the house for growing. Feels good to have a new interest again.
I'm also looking forward to hunting some argentipes or venenata locally.

To be honest I like the current size of the shroomery and it's pace.

I don't want an influx of new annoying/ignorant/non-teachable members joining. Also, have you seem hoe many have been joining lately?

Lastly, I'm sure many of us have our profiles set to invisible (including me) so that list couldn't be accurate. :shrug:

The people who were the regulars before you joined said the same thing. What if you made the cut off year '09, like when you joined. I wouldn't be able to be here.

you have to accept the shroomery for what it is, a constantly changing entity. Resistance to the change only hinders the future possibilities of the website. Newbs will be noobs will be n3wb5, but we were all newbs once. The best thing to do is to be kind and try to direct the newbs in the proper direction towards being respected and contributing members to the shroomery.

i was a really bad newb, made all the mistakes of begging for spores, pm'ing people with a lot of post to ask the dumbest questions that are all available on the search engine, but the senior posters were nice and pushed me in the right direction, and eventually everyone comes to learn the rules here and it works out nicely. Just do your part to help the newcomers become veterans

Oh, I don't mind if more members start joining. I don't think cutting off the reg date would be good either.

I just don't want an influx of new members who have nothing to contribute in the forum except for ignorant/hateful/ pointless posts. Which is why I'm happy with the current size yet don't mind if more join. I just don't want a shit ton to join :tongue:
