I have a ukulele but I only know a strum or two and a couple of chords. I've always wanted to learn how to play it but I rarely sit down and take it out. Posting in this thread to follow.

I don't play ukulele myself though I've been thinking about it lately, how hard is it to learn ?

I play a little uke. I have a Cordoba 15CM. Easy to play and easy to travel with.

This is me and my friend. Only the second day I got the thing. My friend is on a six. Sorry about some of the background noise.

Its easy, there is more than one chord where you only have to hold down one note. Its the strumming that I see most people have trouble with.

There must be more uke players here. It can be such a simple instrument. Here is part of a song I've been working on. I cant sing well, though.

In my opinion the ukulele is about half as hard to learn as guitar. You don't really need to go through any pain of growing calluses and its really portable. I learned the stairway to heaven intro on youtube in about a day and it took me a week of 10 minutes per day of playing it to master it (I am by no means musically gifted). It sounds really good as well! :sunny:

I play a bit.

If you know a little guitar it is very easy to switch over.

My uke is very much like the OP's.

Same brand, same size, slightly different styling.

I play a bit too.

I know about three chords and can play the beginning to the song "Wipe Out"

But it's hard for me to sit down and practice anything though

How about this? A ukulele bass. I played one of these and it was the most awesome bass I have ever played. The strings are polyurethane and feel like jelly, the plugged in sound is reminiscent of a stand-up bass, but more punchy and well balanced, it just sounds and feels super cool, I want one!
