Hidden Talents of Shroomerites!

Shroomery, tell us something you're good at that we don't already know or perhaps would never expect.

This thread is inspired by Patlal who when looking at a youtube vid of footage of many wars identified all battle vehicles and planes used with a background on which war it probably was.

I'll start.

On the OpenSimulator / Second Life virtual reality platform I can build three dimensional virtual objects starting with basic geometric shapes such as boxes, spheres and cylinders.
Here is an example of some rifles I built. The top one I deliberately colored in contrasting colors so you can see how it was put together:

llSay(0, "I also have the skill to write code in the LSL2 scripting language to make these objects do all sorts of stuff.");

Whats your hidden talent, something you are good at that we wouldnt immediately guess?

I make really awesome mead and braggot, which is like beer but is mostly from honey.

In the Second Life VR platform theres a zombie shooting game. Because of software constraints its a bit lame with too powerful weapons so to give the zombies a chance I made the bottom rifle, loosely based on the Lee Enfield and similar rifles. Its a bolt action rifle which you have to cycle after every shot, thereby drastically reducing your firing speed, giving the zombies at least SOME chance to come at you.

Mead? yumm! They dont call that "liquid gold" for nothing. I love a good mead!

in the book World War Z, bolt action rifles are used to force fire control, preventing soldiers from firing all crazy like, missing head shots and wasting rounds.

Yup the SIR rifle! I listened that one as an Audio Book, its a very good version of it. I hope the movie wont disappoint.

i can knapp a large spear point out of a rock in a few minutes, and i can dig rocks up like a badger.

I used to design and build maps for counter-strike 1.6 and source. nothing amazing, but a few maps that i really enjoyed. wish i still had a copy or picture of it floating around to show... dang.

anyhoo I have purchased barley seed in order to grow barley and then malt the barley and then ferment it.

are you asking me? i don't even know what iu is, indiana university? do they have a good archaeology department or something? i'm not schooled in archaeology or geology, but they're hobbies of mine and my living as well.

I had some classes with a guy that did really awesome obsidian knapping and he was from PNW
