Carve a wooden one. I like stone equally as much as I like wood, with glass underneath both. Don't get me wrong, I like glass but the first two just resonate with me better for some reason. There's a lot of woods you can use too, but do a little research first because some trees secrete poisons when heated and smoked out of. I personally use white oak, because I have a stupid abundance of it, and is easy to work with. I don't use power tools, only a knife and a screw driver with a drill bit in it. I try to go as minimal as possible, because it just feels correct. Once your pipe is made, run water through it and dry hit it a lighter immediately after. It does something to the cell walls of the wood so it doesn't smolder when used. Kind of like a weird glaze. Repeat as needed. Few things feel as awesome as when you smoke that first bowl out of it once your done.
