Seth Rogen Prefers Stoner of the Year Award to Oscar

Prior to hosting the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday, February 25 – the evening before the 84th Annual Academy Awards – Seth Rogen told People magazine that he has already “won the one award” he really desires.

Rogen was speaking of the highly coveted Stoner of the Year Award, of course. “I’ve won it twice, and that is HIGH TIMES magazine’s Stoner of the Year … I actually lost to James Franco eventually.”

Rogen also stated that he’d “rather host the Oscars than win an Oscar.”

Seth is welcome to host the Stony Awards whenever he’d like. However, it is necessary to clarify: it’s true that Rogen took Stoner of the Year in 2007, and he did lose to James Franco in 2008. However, to date, he has only won the HIGH TIMES Stoner of the Year Award once.

Still, the consensus around the HT office is that Rogen will be a multiple Stoner of the Year Award winner before too long.

His films Knocked Up and Pineapple Express won the Stony for Best Comedy back-to-back in 2007 and 2008. Rogen was also front and center on HT’s illustrated January 2012 cover.
