Checks and Balances @theShroomery?

I'm just wondering... how are the mods kept in check around here?
There doesn't seem to be any method of checks and balances... so I'm thinking we the people of the Shroomery should write one up. I'll be the Shroomery's Thomas Jefferson if you people don't mind (all I do is WRITE... we all decide how it works).

It doesn't work like that.
They run this site, we are only visitors, we have no rights.
I think the mods do a great job, and if one of them steps out of line or abuses power, they are checked by the other mods... or the admins.

Maybe I'll just buy the Shroomery and turn it into a democracy...

PS: Sclorch, if that is a serious offer, then I would contact 3D or Thor, and see if they would have an interest in selling. Myself, I wouldn't sell, but I can't speak for them. I do know, that I would charge you a fee upfront, to have my accountant create a valuation and give you a figure for buying it. I would not put my accountant through that kind of work, unless I knew those costs would be covered. Especially, if I wasn't already planning on selling. However, like I said make them an offer, or see what they will charge you to come up with a selling cost. :smile:

I also propose that a moderator should not be allowed to moderate more than two forums. This will easily simplify the problem IMO.

i do think that the mods are streched thin around here. i dont know about people abusing the power of modship, i definately agree with no mod on more than two forums. of course if they did that there would be ALOT of mods. peace

I feel that all of the forums that I regularly read are moderated quite well.

I do agree that many mods seem to be stretched thin, moderating more than one forum. Perhaps the addition of a few more mods would help reduce some of the stress placed on many of the mods who have to enforce the guidelines of different forums. All in all I think this place runs pretty well.

Ok, everyone in this thread stop insinuating about what may have been exchanged in Private Messages, and/or other personal details about people's private lives. This is a public drug forum! :shocked:

This thread is a Feedback Forum debate about an issue of Shroomery government, not Payton Place! :frown:

Frankly, the personal politics of the members participating in the debate has very little to do with the validity of any arguments pro or contra on an issue, which will effect this community as a whole...
