I'm very loyal and I expect that from my partner.  It's weird, I consider sex as a confirmation that he loves me and usually in places where it's normally not done.  Last weekend we went to the restaurant for his birthday and we were smoking a sigaret in a room next to the restaurant.  We were all alone, no staff, I had a nice dress on, boots, stay-ups,....and I was waiting for him to touch me, not to have sex, just to let me know that I was hot that night.  I know I can't expect that to happen everytime or everywhere and believe it or not I have my off days, not many ....

What definition is that? I tried looking for objective criteria, but couldn't find any. The wikipedia article I linked to earlier appears to implicitly use the criterion of performing sexual acts that lead to orgasm on a daily basis, but I'm not sure if there is any sort of consensus on this (or any other) criterion. As far as I can tell, the definition of hypersexuality or nymphomania is based on subjective and probably culturally-defined factors. As I stated before, human sexuality is varied, and the same goes for the sex drive of individuals, which ranges from none at all (asexuality) to 'a lot' (hypersexuality). I guess what's 'normal' is only a matter of choosing a certain bandwidth or interval that is centered around the middle (or the mode? or the average?) of the scale and then saying "look, this is normal, and anything beyond it is abnormal and therefore either asexuality or hypersexuality". To be hones, I think it's bollocks.

i get what you're saying and agree completely with you... before i made my original post i did a search on the word "nymphomania"... i came up with no objective criteria either except for what it was except anecdotal experiences from men who had relationships with nymphomanics(their experiences were similar to mine),references to hypersexuality and definitions of nymphomania...

i decided to check out hypersexuality and discovered that some theories describe it as a sexual addiction or the it fell under OCD-spectrum disorder, that it could be related to hypomania  or mania in bipolar disorder or schizoaffective disorder(as one of it's symptoms), compulsive and impulsive  behavioral issues, it could be a symptom of klüver–bucy syndrome and it went on and on... the mayo clinic defined compulsive sexual behavior —  as hypersexuality, hypersexual disorder, nymphomania or sexual addiction... i thought it was ridiculous at that point... i didn't think it was unnecessary to lay all this on her... some women enjoy sex, good for them, why try to put a label on it as something abnormal...

what i meant by standard definition was:

merriam-websters definition: excessive sexual desire by a female...

free dictionary definition: excessive sexual desire in and behavior by a female....

dictionary dot com definition: abnormally excessive and uncontrollable sexual desire in women....

i normally wouldn't want to accept the use of the word "excessive" in defining her but lets face it, her desires are greater then the defined norm(a woman who might be satisfied with one or two sexual encounters per week or less in some cases) and she enjoys fantasizing which most people are too hung up to do so ... my wife is alot like nymfomaniac and for that i'm very grateful...

Yeah, I see your point. The problems is as always the subjective terminology used: 'excessive', what percentile is that exactly? Also, I agree with you that people who just like sex a lot shouldn't be stigmatized because of that
