Solfeggio tone youtube mystique...

there is a lot of woo-woo hype surrounding the "Solfeggio" scale...many claim that the frequencies (396, 417, 528, 639, 741, 852 Hz) have transcendental chakra-opening and healing properties which were recognized by the ancients and utilized in Gregorian chants and have been forgotten about through the ages. I have also heard that recently, Russian biochemists have successfully used the 528 Hz tone to repair damaged mouse DNA. 528, 396, 417 are all man-made units...therefore I can't see any significance in the frequencies based on the symbols themselves...and when played in order, the tones just sound like random ascending tones, rather than the harmony of a good ol fashioned musical scale...I've spent plenty of time meditating to the tones and I admit to feeling differently after listening to them, specifically humming along to 528 hz w/o binaural beats and musical dubs...but I am unsure whether what I was feeling was forced placebo or if this is simply a tool to discourage and discredit spirituality. i believe that music is medicine but i can't see the direct significance in these tones. has anyone felt anything worth talking about after meditating these tones?

I definately feel different after listening to the scale. Some nights when Im having trouble getting to sleep I play all 6 six tracks, usually im asleep by the 4th one.

the more time i spend listening to them, the more i feel that they bring me to equilibrium...shouldn't it be the other way around?

I didn't know that there was any hype surrounding solfeggio.

The solfeggio technique was invented by Guido de Arezzo, in the 12th century, to help vocalists find the semitone. The system doesn't used fixed pitches, the system is about how to accurately describe the intervals in a major scale. In other words, solfege doesn't provide that A=440hz(or any other specific frequency), the system allows you to start on any arbitrary pitch and sing a 7 tone scale.
