My friend and I had a fun night in memory of him. 
We had heard the myth of him still being alive
Saw the videos of face by face comparisons of him
Then and "now". Looked into the ranch theory, found the address
Grabbed some booze started a new doors cd we bought 
 and drove down the long windy tree filled wooded mountain road
All the way to the address. When we went there was a plethora of do not tresspass signs
Which we.... Missed.. On the way in. 
All the way up the road were shitty trailers, not so structured homes
Just a bunch of people who seemed to prefer seclusion. Maybe 12-15 homes on this 
10+mile stretch of road. When the song "end of the night" came on
We pulled into "his" driveway. We looked at eachother and said fuck it...
Drove on in. We noticed two brand new cars out frOnt and a garage that looked like it was made specifically for a car you treasure. So we convinced ourselves, mind you this is at like1am so we didn't see alot but we noticed it was the only house that was really a house, a beautiful huge house next to a ranch only convincing us more in the moment that it could be someone who might have saved good doors money and started a ranch. But in the end we spooked out and left. May have looked in the mailbox to see if there was anything with his name on it but there wasn't. So in the end I'm not convinced and have to believe he is passed away, and on that note I hope his soul rests in the desert and remains the lizard king. 

Just thought I'd share a story.

If it wasn't for Jim Morrison, the rest of the Doors would be a bunch of musicians working menial jobs at Wal Mart while playing at clubs and bars on the weekends in mediocre bands that no ones ever heard of.

I dont think anyone understood who Jim Morrison was. From my perspective, he was a great poet, a good but not great singer, a great channeler of music, and also a selfish manic depressive. And i believe that fame destroyed him and he hated the mainstream public that chewed up such singles as light my fire.

I never get when people put down his singing. Its unique and its beautiful. He does things with his voice that wouldn't become popular for 20 years after he died.

Yeah I don't why people say he's not a great singer. The SOUND of it is great. He also said, this is what I read, he didn't want to be a better singer. He liked being a crooner. I don't know what that word means, but, I think I do. Maybe he was kind of like Frank Sinatra, who trained himself to have his singing voice like his talking voice.

He does appear to have been somewhat of an egomaniac who was deified after a tragic early death.

Guy was definitely a kickass singer though.

Totally agree for the most part... But IMHO he is definitely a great singer. He didn't care if anyone was there, even if they were he didn't care what they thought. He felt every note of music and made love to it. I can melt while listening to him coexist with a tune. My spine will tingle and I can't help but sing with him. This is just me personally but yea I found him amazing. Though his attitude really roped me from The beginning (my life not his career lol)
