Evo4g and streaming problems

#14656804 - 06/22/11 11:47 PM (15 years, 4 months ago)

So I have an evo through sprint and it's pretty rad; however, I am having major buffer issues. Unfortunately, I don't have 4g coverage but the streaming is TERRIBLE rendering any sort of streaming radio unlistenable. This is the case even when I have full 3g reception bars. Apparently Sprint capped streaming in January and there was some chatter about it online but most of it seems to have stopped in Marchish. I have found some alleged solutions such as the "speed fix" or rooting the phone. However, these all involve modifying the phone substantially. Has anyone actually used these modifications to enhance streaming speed? I find this whole scenario rather puzzling being that the iphone is on the 3g network and it gets perfect streaming and video capabilities. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
