DS Games

So I'm going to get a DS lite tomorrow because I feel the need for portable gaming and I've wanted one for awhile. But, I was trying to decide on what games I should get.

I'm considering Pokemon but I never have played it. Any suggestion on where to start?

What are a couple of games (DS or Advance) that you really enjoyed?


Also, I don't want a DSi or a 3DS because of price and my want for just the games, I also have some old advance games at my parents house that I wouldn't mind being able to play again, thus my choice on the Lite.

definitely cop yourself the new pokemon game.

I have zelda the phantom hourglass. it's pretty cool with the new touchscreen functions I hear the newer one is a bit more challenging though...

I have the new sonic one as well and it's decent but not really worth buying IMO

snipe the games off ebay for half price.

i was gona make a post like this too i have a DS Lite and i want some new games but most of them seem to linear.

been thinking about Final Fantasy IV
or one of the Zelda Games
was thinking Spirit Tracks is that any good?
or Hour Glass? which is cooler?
i like how Zelda follows u in Spirit Tracks

See I don't know if I want to start off with the newest one because there aren't any of the original pokemon that I would be all nostalgic about.

I probably would get to it but I was wondering if there was like a newer game that still featured the first 150 that I would remember?

go with Platinum than. its prerrt advanced 4th generation and its mostly classic pokemon and some others. or play soulsilver/heartgold becus they have some classics mixed in with some new ones (of that time) as well
IMO i like SoulSilver better than Black/White

hey JOIN US in the Official Pokemon thread

im still playing Silver. get that or start w/ platinum. should be a litle cheaper now that blk/wht is out.
get it and we can WiFi play together :happyheart:
i would really suggest SoulSilver over Platinum. the pokemon follow you. the game is comprised of 2 maps/worlds johto/kanto theres a ton more content. Kanto is the region with all the classic pokemon.
i feel that they fixed everything that was wrong in Platinum when they made Soulsilver.
SoulSilver/heartgold are the only pokemon games that are comprised of two maps/worlds having more content then even black/white can offer since its just in the Unova region and thats it..

get a cycloDS card and you can download any game you want, you just need a microSD USB reader.  playing FFIV now.  its :awesome:

advance wars are fun games

chrono trigger

i heard the new golden sun wasn't up to par with the older ones
Dragon warrior 9 looked corny but meh id play it

Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced 2, easily can spend over 100 hours of gameplay on this because it's so in-depth. Well worth buying.
