Ever notice on Facebook..

Everyone's a philosopher but the majority of them are talking out their ass? I would seriously consider deleting my account if I didn't use it so much for networking :discorex:

haha it seems like everyone wants to delete their account but won't for the same reason, we're all just too lazy I think, remember when you didn't even have a cell phone and you had to work on social networking?

Yes I rarely use mine, mostly for outgoing calls and as a phone book I think it's really sad when people are so dependent on them.

Yea everyone posting there "deep" quotes all the time get's really annoying. I especially hate the fags though that brag about drug related stuff on there like it makes them cool or something, and the college kids who finally discovered partying and brag about it like we're back in high school again.

There was a guy I know from high school who posted his bong the other day, and another I know who bragged about selling acid to a musician he went to see. I gotta admit it is fun to read how incredibly stupid people are though.

some girl posted something like "the meaning of life is to find meaning in life" and I posted "that's called existentialism, not a bad philosophy, kinda big in france" or something and she just completely acted like I was a freak the next time I saw her, OMG sorry for telling you you didn't invent existentialism and that it goes further then whatever you talk about at parties

The 'deep' philosophical quotes can be really lame.  One i saw today - 'i wouldn't trade one stupid decision for five years of my life'. :stoned:

Practically all my facebook friends are people I could give 2 shits about.. I don't wanna delete them because it'd be kinda rude. I wanna delete it but I've had it for so long that it seems kinda pointless.

Try these as a rebuttal.

"Philosophy is useless unless you live it"
"Unless you practice it, Philosophy is just intellectual masturbation"

I disagree most of us psychonauts have had the time and tools for useful introspection/extrospection and also a unique vantage point, it's just very disconcerting when egomaniacs act like they know everything about everything when they're clearly light years behind the curve.
