leaving my life and joining the military...
    #13143552 -

im thinking about doing it. i have done jack shit with myself since i moved out when i was 16. im now 23. i have a son w/ my ex, hes 15mo, roughly, i enjoy spending time with him, but i dont feel like ill ever really get to be a parent, his mother is over protective and pretty much does everything i wouldnt do, but thats life. ive come to accept it. her and i couldnt get along well enough for me to see him until 3 months ago, so its a relatively new developement for me to have visitation.

i have a good girlfriend of a year and half. we live together, get along pretty well as long we dont get drunk together, lately its been like wwf when we drink. but honestly, im kind of missing my freedom. shits starting to bug me more and more, i know its petty shit, and i know why its bothering me.

i have no job. been unemployed for almost 3 months. havent really tried to find work. im fuckin tired of working minimum wage(or close to) jobs with no potential to move up. ive made it a goal to get a job delivering pizzas bc its the best money i can make at this point, and the tips wont get figured into my child support(which i dont mind paying, i just cant afford to pay more than i do.)

i might be getting an opportunity to get on at fire dept. as a volunteer. which would be good training and shit, but wouldnt pay much. i have no interest in college. our community college offers nothing im interested in. ive been wanting to join the military for a long time. i have issues with authority and our government. my problem with our corrupt government is easily resolved by the mindset that joining up is just a job. i can accept that. but being told to do stupid shit jsut for the sake of doing some stupid shit would bug me. idk. our lease is up the first of november, so  i need to make a decision before me and the gf move to another apartment together. i figured when we move out of here would be a good time to break ties to avoid awkwardness and drama(we are both on the lease so i wouldnt be able to move out.) sorry for the long post. im not sure if its even gonna make sense. im tired as hell. thanks for reading and your thoughts are appreciated.

dont run away and get yourself into a contract only to get away from your current problems

you are definitely joining the military only to run away
it sounds like you need to get your mind off trying to change the past and expecting some magical destination that will solve all your problems

let go of the past, you cant change it

a good suggestion is not to get into another lease with your girlfrirend, before you know it you will have another kid you have to support that you dont ever see, learn from your past and forget it.  be happy with your present decisions, live in the moment with a head to the future but dont set your future into a holy grail scenario where you are constantly trying to run away from not only the past but the present too

anything else i say is useless if you dont want to listen so its up to you to take the reins of your life

getting out of my current situation isnt my only motivation for joining. like i said, ive been wanting to do it for a long time. almost did at one point but bitched out. i know im never gonna get motivated to get an education in something i dont want to to, and im tired of working to just barely get by. and i really think that military structure would be good for me. im far from a self starter. by military standards, im a fucking genius, so i could get pretty much any job i wanted. chemical operations was the mos i picked before. idk. im tired of drifting through life with no direction.

 I'm in college, I have a lot of shit going for me, I'm gonna join after I graduate.

If I were you though, like you said the kids mom is a kook, maybe you should stick around for his sake.  For me though, I want no children, I don't want to ever "settle down", not interested in ever being married and etc.  It's kind of a no brainer for me, I feel like I'm the perfect person to be doing this considering I have no possessions to sell, no home to get rid of, no family to miss... just join the military and serve.  Good luck.

O, and if you want your freedom now, think about how it will be when you are no longer a civilian.  All my friends in the marines love it and specifically, one told me: "I know what people say behind my back, I've heard people call me a tool and a mule of the government.  But ya know what? It's the best job in the world.  I am part of the hammer that comes down on the bullies of earth and I love it, I am no longer just a person, I am a weapon of the United States and I go to sleep thinking I put people out of this life that are the thorn in communities sides."

he's an infantry marine too

He's basically talked me into it.

The bullies of Earth  Whew....anyway, I know sevearl service people and as long as you get lucky it seems to be a fine deal for them. The ones that get hurt, not so good but they still get paid and have benefits.

If there is a regular person and a military person here, the military person is automatically better, no matter what a psychotic, fake disability parasite psycho they are. You get on with them and one way or another you will have a way.

It is a mixed bag - the military has many a psycho piece of shit, but also some (and more) of the best you would ever want to know.
Sorry about your kid. SOunds like your ex has more fun manipulating with him and if that be the case he isn't going to be alright. Maybe having you down the line with something he can respect and regard above the idiots he has to put up with will make the difference to him.

They all went and said "What have I done?" Later, they were glad to be home and have a paid ticket.

Do you find any work(if it paid really well) that you would be interested in doing? Like a trade. CNC work, HVAC, plumbing, construction management, medical gas(plumbing except it pays $50k and up) stuff like that.

look into a community college program, like right fucking now since classes just started and get a trade knocked out in 1yr or 2yrs. Then you'll be happy and making good money.

Yeah, go be a parasitic murderer paid by tax dollars at the end of a leash held by politicians.

FUCK that.

You join the military KNOWING that we are slaughtering INNOCENT people by the hundreds-of-thousands, your soul is as wasted as the lives cast aside and crushed by this self-serving military-industrial machine.

:boot:

...another mindless cog in a blood-soaked machine.

Thank you for reminding me that people seriously couldn't care less that they are contributing to the cancer that violates this entire world...quite clearly knowing and accepting that they are killing mothers and children, and men that have the tragic misfortune to have been picked at random by some arrogant policymakers for extermination to inflate "prestige and profit".

You are guilty of murder if you choose to band with murderers.

Play billy bad-ass, Army of One™ if you like.

Drink up the propaganda and shrug off your responsibility to never harm others.

Make some money-- it's all good.
But you'll be scum, serving scum, killing for and believing in a fucking lie that has barely the smallest shadow of fact.

Serve your Empire.

honestly theres no trickery involved here lol. no one is manipulating me to do it. i wanna do it. its not driven by patriotism, i dont even like my country's government. money is the only motivation. and i wont be killing anybody. i might be helping others kill people, but i do that every day anyway, its just more subtle. and to be perfectly honest, i dont really care that much about human life. its overrated. we are animals like any other. people die every day, look at africa. i dont see anyone doing anything to help that fuckin mess. you can call me immoral if you want. im just not a hippie. i stay indifferent to things as much as possible. makes things easier that way. so yep, im looking to be a baby killer, im not gonna argue the NWO bs with anyone. its retarded and im not even gonna get involved. same reasons i dont argue religion, as much i hate it. but i will agree with you on that war is like cancer. but you have to stay realistic and come to the conclusion that man is a violent piece of shit. so i say, might as well make some money. sorry for the long post. im a bit restless. havent done shit all day.
