Okay I didn't know that I would be anonymous in this forum lol. I got diagnosed with Herpes a few years ago. It definitely sucks, but don't let it ruin your life. I was with a douchebag who had it and didn't tell me and then all the sudden I get to experience the painful embarrassing sores on my vagina.
The important thing to remember is life goes on. 60% of the population has herpes and it doesn't prevent you from leading a normal life, having children and so on. Get on antivirals, and take care of your body. Try to lower your stress levels as that is a big trigger.
Currently I am engaged and although it wasn't easy, I have told my fiance and he is very supportive, I actually just recently got over an outbreak.
The outbreaks get less severe and last shorter periods of time as time goes on, and eventually you will probably not have outbreaks hardly ever anymore.
Do not beat yourself up, it is not like you did this on purpose. Just remember that the right person for you will love and support you anyway, and just use protection to prevent you spreading it to other people.
