i'm not a fan. i find his stuff to be really boring and formulaic and from what i've read he is a total dick about his success i.e. dogs on his consumers and acts like an asshole in general at his gigs. the former is my own subjective taste and the latter is hearsay from promoters i know, so take it as you will.

i listen to a lot of stuff, electronic and not, but i think you'd be into this.

i don't understand the deadmouse esteem. it seems sub-par for that genre of music, which i do not listen to often.

a good portal into the world of electronic music perhaps, like how some people who listen to infected mushroom eventually end up listening to psytrance.

I saw him live in Ybor sometime last year. He puts on a pretty good show and for some reason lots of hot girls go to his gigs.
I enjoyed it, it was worth the experience... but it ain't really my type of vibe.
He's one of the most famous electronic musicians in the world right now apparently.
The Mouse mask that he wears is pretty bad ass though.

How do you folks rate The Prodigy?

It really just makes me want to eat pills/mdma and have a good time. Deadmaus doesn't do that for me. They can't be pinpointed to one genre.

i wish i had more to share. i haven't kept up and i lost about 5 years of music collecting when i left the country last year on my external hard drive and the rest is in discs on the boat back. i had some ridiculous stuff from '04 (good year for that sound imo).

the "headspace" show on proton is always good. 214 has quite a bit of stuff on this page but all of the shows i've heard have been quality.

i'd dig around on here too. electro has taken a serious dive since the big room "electro house" invasion, but there's still some guys out there pushing the real stuff.

another guy i like is jon drukman aka bass kittens. former studio tech for depeche mode if i'm not mistaken. if you can find any of his dj sets give them a listen. he did a headspace show in '05 that was all experimental. outstanding. that's one i'd upload if i still had it.

His show does look kinda entertaining. He's got a sick stage/lighting set-up.
