Do you use proper punctuation in text messages?

My girlfriend thinks its LOL that I type everything out, including: commas, periods, capital letters, etc.

my phones have always capitalized the first letter automatically.  but yes, i do use punctuation when texting.

Mine autocapitalizes but I text with proper grammar and spelling. I use periods, commas, semi-colons etc.

Depends, I try to.  My phone automatically corrects things and adds periods if I doublespace.

I dunno man.

On one hand I find excessive shorthand annoying,
but people who pretend there's any actual reason to
spell/punctuate 100% correctly in a text like:
"Hey dude wanna chill 2nite"
Piss me off even more.

Usually because I think it's quite retarded when your whole sentence is a run-on sentence.

Sometimes, I hit the "send" button instead of a letter and i'll end up sending a blank text or a cutoff one. :facepalm:

As a general rule I use proper spelling, punctuation and grammar in texts.
I'd hate to pick up any bad habits... :shrug:

i have an irrational hatred for shorthand.  sometimes i like to type in misspelled accents and colloquialisms.  but things like U R 2 fucking kill me.

I could care less about shorthand.

It's only become uncool because lame girls gravitate towards it.

Nah, shorthand ain't nothing but saying "Yes I have better things
to do than to make sure this text asking if you took my bowl last
nigh tis grammatically perfect"

On the flip-side, excessive shorthand pisses me off. Like when, instead
of saying "ha call me later" they say "lol kk then ttyl"

It depends on who I'm talking to, but usually.  Its because of all the grammar nazis on the internet, I try to use correct spelling and punctuation.

When you got a keyboard phone it makes it easier. I also type everything out, I've gotten too used to it to go back to that gibberish text talk.
