Injection sites and hand sanitizer

Hi,

this may be a stupid question, but if I have no isopropyl alcohol wipes can I use some alcohol based hand sanitizer on a cotton ball to swab an injection site? I have checked all the local shops and there is no isopropyl alcohol or wipes available.

I have a grow bag so it would just be one jag, rather than 4 on a jar.

well you normally use alcohol swabs when shooting up too.

Ok, when people read my post they know I'm not talking about shooting up, so why don't they attempt to answer the original question?

Can I use alcohol based hand sanitizer to swab the injection site of a grow bag if I don't have any isopropyl alcohol or alcohol wipes around?

Dude, don't get mad.  I would answer your question if I knew the answer.  You should try asking this question in one of the mycology forums.  You will probably have less people assuming that you're talking about smack over there. 

SA does not have the best reputation for helpful discussions about relevant topics.  :shrug:

that seems pretty damned ghetto when you can just go buy 90% iso alcohol at walmart for like a buck fiddy. 

it won't all evaporate away either, there's shit in there that's to keep your hands from getting hella dry

If I still lived in the states I would go to Walmart, but iv only heard of one Walmart in Scotland and it's a few hundred miles away. I checked my local shops as I have said, so it isn't for lack of trying. I ordered some off eBay, so I'll wait for that while I keep my bag cool and in the dark.
