Putting together an aquarium

I'm planning to put together an aquarium to combine two of my most favorite fish as an experiment of sorts.

I plan to pair up a Peacock Bass (Cichla temensis) and a Largemouth Bass (Micropterus salmoides). I'm familiar with both of their lifestyles, bringing them together may not be easy, but I do believe it can be done. It would be nice to crossbreed them but I understand that won't happen, not entirely sure if it can be done I'm just guessing it can't.

Now the Largemouth Bass is used to North American climate and the Peacock Bass is used to South American climate, yet both reside in the great state of Florida, though I'm not sure exactly which species of peacock bass it is in Florida and I also understand that largemouths from this state also have grown to adapt to Florida's climate. Because of this I would like to get both of my specimens from this state collected from the wild if at all possible that way they will both be used to the same climate before I put them in the aquarium.

I used to be pretty big into aquariums, I've had some 20 or so set ups, saltwater, fresh, and even brackish, like the Chesapeake (for holding striped bass(rockfish) and 'croakers'). I have the experience, it's just been a good 8 years or so since I've actually had an aquarium.

I would like to hear from people who may have more experience than I do on the subject. Maybe we could get a marine biologist's take on it. :grin:
