I have. This is not a new program...

My roommate watches more History channel than any person under the age of 50 should.

I can tell you History channel is not a reputable source as most of what they air is meant to do just this... spark conversation and deliver these so-called Earth shattering revelations with one sided "empirical" evidence.

I'm confused by your reply.  In the first paragraph it seems like you're agreeing with me about UFO's not being here.  But then the second one seems to suggest otherwise?

Sorry if my reply was vague. My position on extra-terrestrial life is as follows:

If aliens know we exist, it is not because we've beamed out a few weak radio waves in random directions. If aliens exist (and have the means to contact us), it is foolish to assume that they would do so in such a crude and obvious fashion as most people suspect. It is also foolish to assume that their technological limitations have any relationship to ours. For that matter, it's foolish to assume that aliens would be DNA-based, or that alien life would even be speciated -- by which I mean, people assume implicitly that alien contact would come in the form of an intelligent race which occupies or occupied a similar ecological niche to ours: the intelligent top dog of their planet. For all we know, life on an alien world would not be divisible into distinct species in the way that life on Earth is. Contact with Earth, for an alien world, could be the effort of a unified planetary ecology.

These are just ideas, examples. What I'm trying to get across is primarily this: if we want to explore rational speculation about extra-terrestrials, we need to quit making so many unfounded and anthropocentric assumptions.

So, to respond directly: if UFOs are here, and are in fact aliens as opposed to something else, then we have no reason to believe that our attempts to contact them or our surveys of neighboring star systems give any useful information about their presence. Everything that most humans believe to be important is likely irrelevant to spacefaring alien life.

It would be pretty cool if we eventually advance to the point where we could visit other civilizations. Imagine advancing to the point where we can help spark life on planets that could support it and populate the galaxy.

Listen judge judy. It may not be a reputable source for information. As we all know what other shows they have showing 2012 is the end of times blah blah. But this area of study does indeed have "reputable" sources coming forward just like the rest of us demanding that the information on these ufos be released. If there was nothing out there and if they did not think anything is going on then why would they not tell us what they know? The fact of the matter is they do know that something is out there or they do indeed have and are testing very advanced  technology. Both of which should no longer be hidden from the public.

I'm not defending History Channel -- most of their shows are trash.
That said, discounting what you saw in the video on that grounds would be fallacious.

There is no such thing as "one-sided evidence."
Evidence is evidence. It is only the interpretation which can be unfair or biased.

In this case, the evidence plainly shows that a great number of witnesses who meet reasonably rigorous criteria for credibility all report having seen similar phenomena.
The fact that History Channel is often sensationalist and/or childish has no bearing on these people's reports.

A 'documentary' about a controversial subject with little to no counterpoint?

If 'they' knew what they saw, it would not be unidentified, now would it?

The most common object to be identified as a UFO is the planet Venus. So much for knowing what someone saw.

You might be dumb enough to think a planet is a ufo but no-one I know is and nor are any of the people in the video.

I know what you are saying believe me. But none believers are turning
into believers all over the world because these things are everywhere.
There are more sightings year after year and you can argue that tech
has come into play here as well which is true to some extent but also
because these things are being seen in more populated areas as well.
