The biggest factor swaying me from belief is the appearance of ETs: they're almost universally represented as humanoid creatures - round, dark eyes; bigger head (greater intelligence?); frail bodies (better technology = less physical work); etc.

They're basically more advanced humans, as far as I've seen.

It strikes me as reminiscent of Christianity: we try to conceive of things outside our grasp, so our attempts ultimately mimic our own little world. 'God' is human-like, as are 'aliens.'

I'm inclined to believe there's an Earthly explanation for UFOs. But we'll see, I guess.

There is life out there besides us. Would it not make sense that if it
takes the same shit to create life then why do they have to be so different from us?

But yes it is questionable to think that they are always crashing here
with all the tech they have. But there is something in the skys. Alien or not we need to know the truth and there are people who know exactly that.

Someone didn't watch the video.

The military guys actually touched the craft.  It was landed and they walked up to it.

I truly think there is life elsewhere out there in the universe.  Probably lots of it.

But the sheer inconceivably large vastness of space also makes me believe that aliens finding our home world are infinitesimally small.

We've been transmitting a "here we are" signal for what, 75 years?

At the speed of light, thats contact with like 50 possible solar systems.  The chance of them having life is about 0.0%.

Yes?

Did you watch the video?

Theres cases where we have the UFO seen by pilots, tracked by separate radar stations and photographed by observers on the ground.

You can just hallucinate that shit.

The rate of intelligent life per star is probably extremely low. 50 stellar systems really ain't much of a sample.
AND you're assuming that as soon as they got our signal they'd say: "hey, we should totally disrupt this planet's entire civilization by just showing up unexpectedly!" IMO that's not likely to be the response of a species intelligent enough to be spacefaring.

And saying that interstellar distances are too vast to travel is blatantly anthropocentric. Compared to many other suns in the galaxy, Sol is pretty young. Extra-terrestrial life could be as much as 3 or 4 billion years older than life on earth -- plenty of time (in theory) to surpass every one of humanity's current technological limitations.

I'm confused by your reply.  In the first paragraph it seems like you're agreeing with me about UFO's not being here.  But then the second one seems to suggest otherwise?

Everyone knows there's life in the universe besides us...

Does it matter?
No.

We are just now seeing most of the universe for the first time because the light is just now reaching us. So we are seeing planets and star clusters through our telescopes from 4 billion years ago. So unless we miraculously find a way to travel faster than the speed of light, without killing the pilot, be able to control our destination, and make it back in one piece, we are alone in the universe. Get used to it

i think its important to take in the accounts of people's sighting... most ufo's seem to be kind of supernatural almost...  the technology is beyond comprehension
