Texas Tech and Tommy Tuberville
    #11799268 -

Tommy Tuberville is the next coach at Texas Tech following the dramatic events leading up to the firing of Mike Leach.

As everyone knows the whole James family conspiracy was the justification the board of regents at Texas Tech needed to fire the all-time winninest coach in Texas Tech history.

That being said, the future is very bright for Texas Tech. Tommy Tuberville, a proven SEC coach, could bring the desperatley needed defense to Texas Tech's already unstoppable offensive scheme. It has been rumored that he will bring in Alabama linebackers coach James WIllis to be his DC. This in combination with the retaining of new OC Lincoln Riley (a Mike Leach protege) could spell success for Texas Tech in years to come. Tuberville went 12-0 in 2004 and won an MNC. He has had former national championship contending head DC's Muschamp/Chizik in his staff before, so he must know something about farming an all-star defense.

Tuberville's arrival means a new era of football for Texas Tech where a BCS bowl is the logical next step for the program. I would be concerned if I was an Oklahomo/Texas fan.

If I were an Oklahomo/Texas fan I wouldn't be concerned. They both have far superior coaches to Tuberville (who may or may not be an inferior coach to Leach) and they bot have a recruiting base that isn't rivaled by many in the country, let alone rivaled by anyone in the Big 12. The next biggest threat is Nebraska anyway.
