I hate the special olympics.

The Olympics: A measure of acheivement, years of training for a spectacle of maximum performance. A reason to have pride in your nation and fellow man.

Special olympics: :bucktoothfattygangsta: Yay! I can run! Nice people smile at me! Pretty colors! Yay!

I was watching the Colbert Report today, and the wife of Californias mayor was selling ice cream.

Ice cream called Loving Scoopful. She reeked of smug self-satisfaction. As if getting some mental invalids to smile was all that mattered in life.

Handing out coloring books would accomplish just as much without wasting everyones time and money. It is a mockery of hardworking athletes worldwide to call these events "olympics".

There are no losers, this isn't a competition. It's no longer a track, you could do all of this in any parking lot.

These are the "special" olympics not THE olympics.  Do you honestly think people confuse the two, and view the special olympics as a genuine sporting event?

In the grand scheme, if everyone were happy, the world would be an awesome place.  Could you imagine daily life if everyone around you were happy?  It would be like living in Disney land.  Not realistic, but it would do a lot for people in the grand scheme.

But Noooo, there is always some bitter asshole who actually gets upset, over other people's happiness. 

See, it not just the miserable people in life.  Its the fact that they can't keep their misery to themselves.  Why can't miserable people be happy being miserable by themselves?  Why do they always need to bring others down?

It seems so artificial and politically correct to make a sporting event for the non-sporting, just to make them feel good.

I started post about being disabled, and I honestly agree with #1, its a joke.  Everyone wins, how the fuck is it a competion.  Some people I know from camp used to compete, and they were total dorks.  They were so positive it made me wanna vomit, fucking losers.
