what are you gonna be drinking for the holiday/winter season?

i was just curious what everybody has set aside for bringing in the holidaze/new year.??

I have a few good bottles of lotus wine set aside and working on some potka/green dragon.

I think the lotus wine will be good for thanksgiving and other holidaze where i cant just smoke n shit..so a lil lotus wine should add some extra oomph..

the green dragon will be for xmas. and ofcourse some good bombers of Jolly Pumpkin and the usual case of Sierra Nevada Celebration ale.

am i the only one who likes to have something a lil unique for the holidaze?

i am intrigued by this lotus wine.  i will have to try it some time.

i personally don't have anything special plan in regards to alcohol over the holidays.

i cant do gin..well i do ha, but it taste too much like a pine tree for my tastes..

and lotus wine is really nice imo. Its subtle yet def different than normal wine. its good if you have to face people you done want too ha. just gotta have good materials to start off with..lotus and good wine and make sure its steeps long enough. I like to mix the white and blue lotus in..

Ingredients:

1 bottle of red or white wine
1 wine cork
10-20 grams of Blue Lotus/white lotus (petals and bulbs)
1 tablespoon of honey (optional)

last year I was off my face on the green dragon..like i ate half a batch of brownies. And we only use the stems. dont waste anything :stoned:

gin is under-appreciated these days.  bitches with their vodka martinis... pisses me off.  that's not a martini!

although, cheap gin is pretty much the worst cheap alcohol.  good gin, on the other hand, is quite awesome.

nice list ...im not either, thats why if i do drink its something good or worth it.

and ill admit gin and grape juice is actually pretty good..but im not a huge fan of mixed drinks. so usually just shots  for me.

Winter ales.  They tend to be much richer than their counterpart (summer ales) and a higher alcohol content.  Wooohoo.

Fuck yeah on the Sapphire... not a big fan of gin, but when I do, it's the blue. :yesnod:

For christmas, I'm saving a big ol' bottle of St. Bernardus Christmas Ale.

i guess my holiday liquors will be somewhat special.  certainly the only holidays in my lifetime i'll experience them in such an authentic atmosphere.  but i'm actually pretty used to the drinks by now (czech pivo (beer) and slivovice (clear plum brandy)/marunkovice (clear apricot brandy)).  i've had quite a bit of experience with them over the last 3 months, so the holidays won't be unique in that respect.  oh, and grog, which is a hot apple cider spiced with rum.  that one's definitely a winter specific drink.

man, i had difficulty typing that.  i just lightbulb vaped some 018, and it's hittin me quite nicely and effectively.

this time of year i usually drink darker, heavier beers like Smithwicks, Sam Adams Winter Lager, Xingu Black (although that one is a lot softer and more "delicate" for lack of a better word).

if im not drinking beer ive got absinthe. Kübler, Verte Suisse, and Pernod.

and if im a little cold then i drink Tullamore Dew whiskey. neat.

oh and occasionally i have a glass of Siembra Azul tequila or Hennessey VSOP. if i really want to treat myself ill get the Hennessy XO.

i really dont do mixed drinks at all.

Hopefully homemade mead. Started it back in august, i might get to drink some before winter is over.
