psilocybe cubensis??? Need ID!!! (2ND PIC)

Need help identifying if this is psilocybe cubensis? Thank you in advance

Habitat: Cow Pasture, in Southeast Texas

Gills: From a dark gray to a blackish color

Stem: At first it was white, now it is bruising blue. The veil was also a bluish purple color

Cap: Badgish white on the outisde, and a bronzish brown on the center of a cap, the center of the cap also has a nipple.

Spore print: Have not had time yet

Bruising: The stem is bruising a blue color

Location: Houston, Texas

It looks like it, but a more complete description and a better picture would be helpful in eliminating any doubt.

hey guys, if I took just this one mushroom (because that's all i found), would it really do anything, or is it not worth it to take just this one? I do plan on going out tomorrow during the day time.

It may produce threshold effects, but don't expect much more than that. Best try to find some more.

At that size you'll merely feel a buzz. If you're sensitive, that is. You have maybe 0.5-1.0 gram dry there. Like koraks said, better look for some more.

You'll end up with around 1 gram cracker dry. I consider anything less than 3 grams pretty much a waste of time unless all you are aiming for is a body buzz. If I eat active mushrooms I want a psychedelic experience, but that's just me.

^yeah i hear ya. Anyways, I really appreciate all the help you guys have given me. Wish me luck for tomorrow, i'm going out again, and hopefully during the day time, I'll be able to find a lot more.

I'd be more than surprised if all that this field yielded was one solitary cubensis, so I think you will be lucky.

^^yeah, you're probably right. But you know the thing is, I found A LOT of little small ones, and they were all white, no browniish color on the center of the cap. Now I mean these were real small, not even an inch or two tall yet, so I'm wondering if maybe those haven't matured yet.

No. They are a different species. Psilocybe cubensis caps are brown-caramel in color on immature specimen.

Baby cubensis:



Mature cubensis:



What you found are most likely a Panaeolus species. Panaeolus antillarum (inactive) and Panaeolus cyanescens (very active) share the same habitat with Psilocybe cubensis.
