Why does making the choice and signing on the line seem like the hardest thing in the world to do? I've had the papers for almost 2 months now and I haven't signed them. It seems in my mind I've already done it sometimes.. other times it seems like the weight of not having it done yet is overwhelming.

My sister did this for almost 2 years, and even though she signed them, she still has the last name. -- She's the one who got the divorce and it's still a big deal.

I'm Sorry #1 I know how you feel it took me for ever to get up the will to sign them and even though i was happily engaged with the love of my life about to have a baby and hadn't been with my wife in almost a year and a half the day it all went threw and became official i had a break down got shit faced drunk and cried like a little girl ( in my fiance's laps none the less) lucky for me she understood and after that little break down i relised it was what i had wanted and i was OK and moved on.

when I got married, I just looked marriage as a way to make the relationship legal for insurance, etc..

when I got divorced I looked at it as breaking up.... no big deal...

I have kids too, but I would rather them not see their father miserable.

I just wish there weren't so many laws
