I came in here with the intend to give you a good hearty thumbs-up for a novel idea that I fully supported (and dare I say - even anticipated the release of (to some extent anyway)) but nnooo you just *had to* go on an reveal yourself to be an absolute imbecile with the above quote stated here, and have therefor turned away what probably would have been about the only person in this country that would ever even consider paying money for such an absurd idea to begin with

no one wants to waste their time with a story written from someone even dumber then themselves  :nonono:

I was having a convo with someone one day.. and the story went something like...

"Well, if that shit bothers you, then you need to learn to get your emotions under control because if something actually tragic happens to you one day, then you're gonna really feel like you're fucked..."

And then he went on to say.  "This shit happens, man. It happens to everybody. When you're young, you escape death by the skin of your kneck, and wonder how you did it"  When you're older, and have kids, you worry about every little thing. This is it. There's nothing more. You're gonna get old, and get sick, then you're gonna die."

It made me think that so many  people miss out on life because they are too busy not living it by being, safe, cautios, politically correct, and living in a comfort zone.

So, I thought of this book title.

BTW, I do write as a freelance writer, but have never written books. But, I do have a large journal full of book titles and synopsi that I have plans to write one day.

i've published one book, another (a novel) is going to print next week and i have a poem book deal going on. you need to stop thinking about and try start doing it. i've seen this a lot when a person blathers on about their book etc and they never do anything about it. there's a word for that but i've forgotten it.

its nice you have some private journal but you need to take the first step and send your shit to some magazines or publishers and see if they even pass elementary quality control.

I have an article published in Jan's edition of Timesharestoday magazine, Consumer guides for a major timeshare resales website and have written a Bio for a Latin pop artist, and wesite content for a law firm and another article for a non-profit org.

My writing skills are natural and I have no problem writing, but when it comes to a whole book, I get scared.

writing fiction sounds completely different from those examples. literature comes differently for everyone. just start the book, otherwise you'll never get off the ground. you could write a synopsis, a five page summary of your book and see how that feels. if it rings a bell start the first chapter.

also free your time by dropping that commercial shit asap and concentrate on the book idea. get the idea out, maybe its a short story but i'd rather read a good short story than a dragged out book, cheers.

Ok. This may sound like I don't have a clue... But, I don't know how to get started... I'm very logical and my approach to all my technical writing has always been to use and outline and expand, expand, expand, until it was basically a fill in the blank outline....

I haven't really tried to write anything without using this technique other than trip reports, and journal entries...

If I should write a book about living life, should I just start writing like once upon a time..... ?

scratch everything you know about life AND writing and sit down behind your laptop or a piece of paper. if your technique doesn't work then its not useful, toss that.

i've seen that happen lots of times. i know people who have hundreds of pages of bullshit in their drawers and they think they are talented but they won't bring it out to be criticized because thats when their fictional life meets reality. not saying that its the case with you but yeah get it out there.

i know a girl who wants to write a philosophical novel because she feels shes smarter than anyone and that she knows life. she is also fifteen years old, good luck with that.

think about if you are really ready for writing anything.

So, You're saying, just sit down, and start writing and let it all out in words as the thoughts flow and just keep going and going until I feel like I've said my piece?

i'm saying don't listen to me, try to find your own thing. are you trying to just express a thought or writing a rant or an interwoven piece of fiction? write something down and then look at what you've done. it might appear as a novel in your head but when its on physical paper it may look like something else. good luck.
