get the history on why coca-cola was created, what's in it, and why you shouldn't drink it.

I saw this on the history channel dude it's not a secret. He made it to support his morphine addiction.

And the coca extract in coke doesn't contain cocaine.

the cocaine ingredient is not a secret. the cocaine ingredient has been made public sicne it's distribution. the SECRET ingredients are those that we haven't been told about, which i clearly explained in the lesson.

Uh... Because it's a super acidic, high fructose filled soft drink? Who needs some "secret ingredient" conspiracy? Soft drinks, in general, are bad for you.

Rather unfortunate, isn't it?

All day long? I'll drink soda occasionally too, but not every day. I used to be almost 300lbs and I drank a lot of soda. Once I cut it out of my diet, I lost a LOT of weight. Crazy how that works.

I used to drink a shit ton of it when I was in high school.

But then I quit being a dumbass, now I limit myself to one a day.

I weight the same as I did back then.

I can eat fast food and drink soda all day and not gain a pound, and I've done it for months on end, and besides my teef falling out I'm the exact same weight as I was before. We're all different

Did anyone else read that article?

There are some really retarded claims made in the first two paragraphs.

Quote:
Coke was originally formulated in 1886 by the Atlanta morphine and opium-addicted pharmacist and former army officer, John Pemberton. When he originally produced this concoction, it contained 3/4 cocaine and 1/4 caffeine, hence the name “coca-cola..........

so is he saying that the beverage was 75% cocaine and 25% caffeine
with no water or sugars, just pure cocaine and caffeine

I call bullshit.

Quote:
1886 was the time of prohibition, so Pemberton wanted to.....

Prohibition didn't start till the 1900's

I stopped reading right there.

If your gonna put out glaring fallacies
in your first two paragraphs
then the rest is sure to be drivel

I used to be a BIG soda drinker(diet sodas mainly), I haven't cut back since recently when I noticed how sensitive my teeth have been getting. All those soda drinking years finally caught up with me, and I'm only 20 years old...

wow... talk about being full of crap... nothing there is really that accurate

apparently cocaine is sold by the milligram and even though I know that the coke I grew up drinking contained little or no cocaine at all...

Quote:
After Candler took over the Coke Empire, he revealed that “the original Coke” contained 60mg of cocaine per glass, but the new Coke formula only contains 8.5mg of it. On the street, cocaine is sold in doses of 20-30mg. so, if we do the math, back then a glass of Coke was similar to snorting 2 lines of cocaine; today, drinking 3 straight glasses of Coke would give the same affect as 1 line of cocaine.

the date for the new formulation of coke was in 1983, they were
releasing it well before it was announced as a new formula

No shit Sherlock.

That syrup had more than cocaine and caffeine though
there was water, sugars and flavoring in there too
