You can print PE take some cotton Q-tip and swab around the gills you should notice the q-tip gathering loose sprores turning the cotton tip purple spore color then wrap in tinfoil....e

I just read all the updates, saw the pic with the cracked cap yup thats low humidity.
The guy who told you press-n-seal, thats very good advice, I should have mentioned it. Its what I used the first time I did tubs and helped me keep humidity 95%+ and get fruits up to a foot long and 10gs dry using storebought manure straw and verm but none as thick as yours dude. One thing with the press n seal is to be sure to poke a number of tiny slits in them for fresh air. I like to change it to a new lid after each flush too, probably not important.
I see you say you made 2 LCs and tried cloning that fruit? How did you make your LCs? By placing tissue from the fruits in LCs? Or from spore?
How did you clone, by cutting some tissue and placing on agar?
Did you do this work infront of a flowhood, in a glovebox, or open air?

For choosing your fruit to clone you may want to try to find a cluster to clone. I remember reading that commercial mushroom farmers would pick clusters of pins to clone and repeat the process a few times to get their "superstrains" for commercial fruiting

Yes this is true I hear people have a near impossible time printing PE you should take some swabs, they're good to have around!

For cleaning the bases of fruits its probably easiest to do this when its dry because dirt will just flake or crack off and you probably get the most weight this way, but if youre going to be eating them and prefer to them to be clean (this is what i do with outdoor fruits too) take a piece of paper towel and wipe off any dirt/debris from the cap and stem, at the bottom of the stem there is a very thin layer of tissue, like skin at the base of the stem. The base of the stem is like a bulb. You can dig up this skin or slide it off, you just need to practice to get a feel for it, Once youve peeled the skin you have a completely clean base and lose no weight. Then you can give them a quick rinse and paper towel dry the moisture on the fruit then crack the stem slightly by either pinching or pulling apart the base of the stem. You dont want to rip it in half, just open a hole so air can travel through the hollow stem instead of water collecting at the bottom, itll dry a lot faster

Thanks for the kind words everyone I am very happy it turned out great. The big ones are still drying right now because I cant get my dehydrator in-till next week so I am using a box fan. But as of now I have 7 dry ounces and probably another 2 from the big ones still drying, plus the 2 from the earlier mini-flush brings the total to around 11 oz.

I didn't manage to get any swaps or prints sorry everyone, next flush I will try and grab some :smile:

P2K1: I just used a clear trash bag to make a kinda glove box, and yeah I just took some tissue from inside and dropped it into a 4% Karo lc. After 3 days nothing has happend so I'm not sure its gonna work out. Karo has never been good to me usually I use honey.

I also had a really nice cluster in 1 tub that i forgot to picture :frown:

3 days is not always long enough, I have done 8 lc's now and some strains are very fast and you can notice growth in 3 days.

BUt some of them have taken anywere from 6-10 days so just stay patient.

And good work bro hell of a grow you had there. Pce <3 Ele

I am curious with the swabs, how does one go about making a spore syringe from a swab? Do they just come off when put in water?

My understanding is that you smear a spore swab on agar, then transfer healthy myc to a new plate until you have a clean pure sample. Atleast thats what I would do.

not really a clean sample per say, but a nice uniform rhizo pattern. not where 2 sections are crossing, but where everything is uniform and not overlapping.

This is PE on some brf and water solution i made. the section on the bottom left would be ideal to cut and transfer to a new agar dish. Not the top left where it is overlapping.

So i totally forgot about that. And when i discovered it under some clothes yesterday it had a huge mushrooms curled uo around the inside.. The cap was black and nasty looking and the mycl had pretty much died out. too bad i didnt notice before it died. i wanted to see how sterile my enviroment was so i opened the lid up for a min or 2 a couple times a day. It never got contaminated... so i just gave up and forgot about it.

The final yield for my first grow was 12 ounces. A little under my estimate but I was very happy. And these Penis envy's where very potent. I and many friends toke 2 gram doses and I have heard nothing but the best remarks.

I did have a contamination out break and lost some jars and tubs to cobweb. My clone LC was contaminated and I lost every jar it shoot up. I let a jar full of cobweb mold break on the floor of the grow room, and for some reason it slipped my mind and I let it sit there for a day. I am bleaching and cleaning out the room but I am not sure I will use it again anyways.

For my next grow, I have 8 of these monotubs and I will be trying out some new strains . Pink Buffalo and Amazon, also some PE and maybe if I can get the SOTM from Ralph then it would be Thai Koh Samui. I will start a new thread when the spores arrive!

Speaking of pe, I watched this kid choke down a 110g monster at a fest last weekend. The kid freaked out ended up taking a big ol dump in his boys tent. Funnyiest shit ever.lol.Definetly the bigest mushie I ever seen.
