So Crazy Diamond,

do you find that most of your friends who share your enthusiasm for psychedelics are spiritually motivated?

Is Catholicism generally accepted among your friends?

Are there any native religions still practiced in your area from before the Spanish influence?

Are some of your friends atheists?

If so, do some of them use psychedelics to find the spirituality they felt wasn't offered to them by religious institutions?

good questions!
well..the mayority of people in ecuador are catholics...
young people though are searching for new spiritual things not only link to catholicism..but budhism or any non atheistic religions..
i have a looooot of atheist friends.. but I think most of them are a little bit confuse because of the whole catholicism enviroment and them always trying to defend their position... the indiginous are very link to the mother nature and they dont believe in any religion...
my friends and I have all grown in a catholic house..with catholic parents and catholic ideas... but we prefer to develop a more spiritual way of thinking.. not link to other religions but to ourselfs... I think for example that we were born in a poor but rich country (in resources)... we must love nature A LOT! because of nature our land is still alive.. because the scientific or technologic resourses WE DONT HAVE!!
I love this idea of the indigenous to use drugs to connect to nature... me and my friends we like it too.. with lsd or with natural drugs like mushrooms and san pedro... Im tired of hearing about this catholics rules.. not use condoms... have all the kids god wants you to have.... but in a poor land like this one.. that is ridiculous.. every minute a little boy dies because of hunger.. not fair..
Older people still think like that... we are much more develop to make the same mistakes.. but sadly not all the people have the chance to study andcreate a much more develop way of thinking.. (sorry for the terrible grammatik)
