I've been in GA for the past week and a half and just got back to my apartment in Newark. I had a few American cockroaches (palmetto bugs for the southerners) that would show up in my place from time to time. They always ended up upside down and dead on the floor because I spray my place down about every 2.5 months.

Before I left I was starting to notice some German cockroaches (what Coaster has). Maybe 2-3 a week. I got home and saw 3 of them within an hour. Fucking unacceptable. I just soaked my place with insecticide. Sprayed the entire perimeter of my apartment down and a little more than that. Hit the walls and everything.

I know German cockroaches are some resilient motherfuckers. If they can survive the amount of poison I just sprayed (~1/3 gallon), then I don't know what the fuck I'm gonna do. As I was spraying I hit one in the bathroom directly with the poison, he kept on running. I only hope that roach dies a slow, painful death.

Oddly enough, there was one in my sink and I poured dish soap on him, he was dead in 5 seconds. Maybe I should spray my place with soap.

I will report back within the next 2-3 days, but if the retarded amount of pesticide I sprayed tonight works, I demand Coaster does the same. Bombing just kills what's there. If they can thrive in your neighbor's apartment, they will just keep invading. Gotta lay down some shit that kills them as they come in.

Roaches are fucking NASTY. There are no circumstances where people should have to deal with them.

I can't help you as of now, but sometime in the next year I should be getting a pesticide applicator's license.  If you still have a problem then I'll mail you some of the good shit :wink:

Man, i've seen like 5 roaches in my life.

Fuckers just don't come by these parts, thankfully.

Last one i saw i nuked him with half a can of fly spray, took about 10 minutes to die but it did the trick.

Roaches suck. My old building in NYC was infested with them. I remember once i bombed 3x in a row and the fuckers were still there, and that was even with regular exterminators coming in every month. Turned out it really did matter who was exterminating though, once they got an actual good one she wiped the pest out.

Shit is sick though while it's on. Not only are roaches visually disgusting but their feces do actually fuck up human respiratory systems. You have to have a building-wide extermination program, get rid of piles of paper (they live in them) and obviously no food left around. I hate those things and if I never see another one it'll be too soon.

My girlfriend is an animal rights activist / vegetarian. In other words, she doesn't support the killing of any animals.

I always call her out on her hypocrisy for killing roaches though. She thinks there too "scary" and "gross" to deal with any other way.

Roaches are similar to shell fish, the way i see it, they are the bottom feeders of land. sure they are composed of nastiness- but who are we to say that a bunnies life is any more valuable?

anyways, i think the reason people are really so afraid of roaches is because of the way we are conditioned.

i'm not saying you should share your apartment with em though, kill em all!

I've only seen a handful of roaches in my entire life. Although,a fter writing this I have a feeling my ceiling will collapse and roaches will pour out
