Married? Bad idea?

I'm a 20-something male in grad school.

Marriage will help because my girl of 2 years is here on an expired tourist visa. We met while traveling abroad and have been taking turns staying with other in the home countries.

I've done lots of rambling and traveling already.

Any advice/opinions from married folk?

(btw, I can't understand how people don't question why government intervenes in personal affairs like marriage)

For what its worth,

At least you have an actual, worthwhile reason for getting married.

90% of women get married for the sole fact that the world revolves around them for the planning of the wedding day, (and then they can be taken care of their entire life).

In comparison to that, getting married for citizenship is quite noble.
